mantasrme
Whats wrong with your original cover, is it broken or just worn with grooves in it? If its worn you can get it flat again by sticking wet and dry paper to a flat board, squirting wd40 or similar on and rubbing it back and forth for a while (long while if the scratches are deep) and you need to change the sheet now and then. Done it before a couple of times successfully on old covers.

Julian
(oil pressure took is time to get up) What sort of time, did you prime the pump,? or the time taken could have been because the pump wasn't primed? what I mean is are we talking a couple of minutes, or a long time? the plate I sent you has been in the cupboard for about five years, so did you check the relief valve, they tend to stick, especially when it has been left idle for a period of time. GTEPETE
An old trick I used to do on Rover V8s is to fill the chamber with vaseline before bolting the plate up, helps with suction....to circulate the oil on start up...,
