611
Ok, so i have a CIH 2.4 fitted with injection and i ordered the standard oil pressure switch (example pic attached) from Opel GT Source in the US and as the Frontera pressure switch fits into the side of the engine front cover the standard one won't fit as the trigger disc gets in the way. If the engine ran the basic Vauxhall injection setup it would be ok but the disc fits on the back of the pulley on my setup so it's in the way. Anyone know if something like this would work?? http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Oil-Pressure-Switch-for-VAUXHALL-Frontera-2-4-n-a-01-10-1998-Option-2-/311330874387?hash=item487cc42413:g:P2cAAOSwNSxVHXeJ Thanks Andy
andyc
Andy, you need an extension that screws into the side cover then the OP switch screws into that and gives you the clearance for the trigger wheel. The extension isn't available from GM anymore but i'm sure you will find some in Europe, if I can find a pic of the last one I done i'll post it up Cheers Andy
andyc
The only pics I can find. in the first one you can just make out the extension in the top of the pick If you can't find an extension then you might be able to get and engineering company to make one for you. Hope this helps Andy

Could get one made, but not many engineering places near me that want to do one off's!! Thanks Andy
moodoo
Andy, If you're stuck, I have a supplier I use in work for one-offs all the time. Mightn't be cheap, but if you sketch it up I can price it for you. Fin
andyc
Hi Andy Yes it was standard on the Frontera but from memory its a bugger to find on the Fiche. Can't help with the number at the moment as I haven't got EPC on my laptop and i'm not looking to be back at work for a couple of months as I've just come out of hospital after a major opp. The extension is just a very long nut with an external thread at one end that screws into the timing cover and the other end is an internal thread for the switch to screw into, the OE parts still has the OP switch sitting very close to the trigger wheel. Cheers Andy

Hi Nick I use to have it like that on the old engine but no room with the manifold im running for the 2.4, it a bit tight down that side :-) Andy
