mantaboy89
I am rebuilding a 2.2 cih and was wondering Is the crank pulley of the 2.2 balanced with the crank or separately. I only ask as I have a 2.0s crank pulley which is alot smaller and lighter and would rather use this to reduce the weight. Any help on these 2.2s is much appreciated Thanks Josh
rutts
I would fit it and forget it. Or get the crank and flywheel with clutch balanced with the pulley fitted also
Julian
As ruts has replied, just fit it, balancing flywheel and crank pulley's would only apply to high performance engines. Best of luck with you're project.
611
Im just going with the lighter 1.9/2.0l pulley on mine. Im not sure you could do much to balance those ones anyway. Andy
cam.in.head
remember if you fit the pulley from an early 2 litre to a 2.2 the timing marks will be 5deg out. should be ok to time up to these marks thou because of the req/reccomended 5deg timing retard for unleaded anyway. best to set as a basic & then see how it performs, pinking wise.
