there are some very familiar looking holes cut it that Manta, been there several times before myself.

Good work, looks like your getting on well toward having another Manta back on the road, particulary good it's a 1.8 and in a rare colour, TOP WORK !

thanks ian just made it chances of being roadworthy again after i have bought the battery tray, front of inner wings both sides and a area around the fuel filler cap inner and outer from another hatchback.

i know some won't agree but you can't save them all and after all you have to break a few eggs to make a omelet :D

made some repair sections for the inner wings and battery tray and fuel filler inner not finished that though got to suss out to unpick it from the body skin

i think i will cut more out of the car for the inner wings so i can weld it to the chassis leg ... will this look neater or just weld a patch to fit ?

also painted inside one headlamp... guess which one :P

hopefully richard :)

it will be ten years off the road soon as its last tax disc ran out 31/8/93

besides the welding it will just need new fuel pipes a service and 4 new tyres and a general once over

does not help when your doing it on your back lawn and its raining all the time :(

took ages to do this, removing the rotten bit was difficult, had to cheat on some of the spot welds by cutting into the lip with a cutting disc, needs welding in yet though

removed from this bit of a scrap car

not done much to this recently , just cut the battery tray hole bigger and pass side above chassis leg a bit bigger and found a inch or two needed cutting from chassis leg under this hole, so glad i found this now.

also made a few repair panels after my washing machine broke so i cut that up ;)

changed the oil and filter as the filter was rotten leaking oil all over my lawn.

also found next doors cat asleep inside the car it had got in from the hole in the battery tray

bought a welder so need to get some gas now , then my only other expense will be 4 new tyres as there rotten
