dog321fish
Statutory Off Road Notificaion Have the rules been changed? If so when ? I previously had to declare sorn every 12 months, unless I put the car back on the road obviously. Now it seems the car is on an indefinite sorn. gary6303
Not that i know of, i sorned my e30 and my manta and get sent a tax reminder but i dont send it off as they are in bits and sorned. I think they stay sorned till you tax it.
Sutty2006
I think, as of january if you make a sorn it becomes indefinate....untill you tax it then sorn it again. If your sorn was due to run out at the end of december/january, go on the gov website and sorn it again. It only takes a few minutes. Mantney
I had to renew mine last month and had a reminder for it. I sent Sorn declarations for the other manta and my bsa when I applied for their log books but have never received any confirmation, reminders or fines for these. Possibly because the both haven't been taxed for decades.

That is correct, my son works at the DVLA, and I just checked that out with him.

Rick-Manta
That's a much better idea than having to sorn it every year like it was a tax disc expiring. It's just a shame that you now have to sorn with no insurance as I have a Manta with tax and test but it's not insured. I can insure for 1 day to take it for a spin or whatever, but since I'm forced to send the tax disc back and sorn it, I don't have that option as I'd be driving without road tax and you can't buy 1 day tax or buy a tax disc at all with temporary cover.
