mcintbg
Done a little bit more Lights and Indicators out. More rust behind indicators and a bit of filler. Lights will need to be replaced, I wonder if you can buy new ??. Or if I could upgrade to brighter ones and keep the same look. Every time i touch it there is a fresh pile of rust on the floor :-)

mcintbg
Been busy with the grinder. Found more rust inside, floor front both sides (not bad) and a small bit on the rear arch. But did find this horrendous bodge.... So it looks like my Manta was once an Auto. Question is do i rip it out repair and put it in properly or just make the bodge better ? New metal going in. dvdman69
You have some good work i there, and have some more to do, unfortunately it does'nt stop for a long time mate, but the end result is worth it a million times over.It has a few odd mods on there but if you decide to keep the manual gearbox, look at fitting a getrag 5 speed, you wont regret it. If you decide an Auto, try for a modern box out of a Carlton, senator or the like, will make a much better job than the original box. I think my welding is getting better or at least it seems easier. :-) So I was awful now i am just bad.

mcintbg
Got the refurbished Brakes back and they look like new Started on the seats, makes a change from the bodywork. 1001 is magic !! The seats are in remarkable condition, no rips or burns just very very dirty. The drivers seat needs new foam as it has disintegrated somehow. The seats have a slight pink tread to the pattern once you remove all the dirt
mcintbg
gave up on getting original lights and went with non oem lights via ebay. could not resist trying the grill back on after getting it all nice and painted. Sate of play as of today... Front brakes installed. Rear drums cleaned. Brake fluid flushed brakes bled. Gearstick fixed. Welding all done (i think) New shocks on rear. Ignition switch replaced. Seats cleaned. It feels like we are not far away now :-) Next job is the front valence.
