611
Ok, so this is slightly cheating! as it was my A Series 🙂 But as this is only the 3rd time its been out the garage for more years than i can count, i thought it was worth a little cheeky post!! Not quite ready for the road but the cam is now bedded in and the engine has had some low load runs and a basic map setup that will mean its derivable once i have sorted out a few issues we came across! close, but no cigar 🙂 Andy

Its was fully mappable (or so they said!) now when i came to get it tuned today there was loads of issues with getting it working and setup (intermittent triggering of the fuel pump, over fueling etc.. and not so easy to adjust) and as it was the first startup the guys there bunged on the Omex 600 ECU with makeshift loom and it fired straight up and ran (a few exhaust alignment issues etc to sort out) but ran well enough to get it going and then after 20 mins of cam break in they ran it on the rollers and set some basic maps up over the rev range so it would be driveable so i can get the engine run in and then i can return for a full rolling road session and have it fully mapped! They used a ford 2.0l zetc base map which was not that far off for the opel engine 🙂 Now i need to find the money for the omex ECU and modify the webcon loom to fit and then after sorting a few other bits it will be good enough to run it around for a bit and find all the other things that dont work before the proper tune up! They can even remote access my laptop to check setting and adjust when i do have it running, nifty stuff! Jessopia74
Megasquirt 2extra. I have the extraefi variant that is highly regarded. However, it would be nice if I have some contact with a club member that already gone through this process, and maybe a base map 😉
chrisb
I have used Steve at Northampton Motorsport for many years as im pretty local to them, He is a great guy and extremely clued up. They built the engine in my Escort Harrier many years ago with twin 40s and full webber alpha set up with tps, That used to fly. They set and balance the webbers on my old camper and have recently set my Exclusive up. They do all the mapping for Retropower too. Great guys.

Not sure if the guys in the US use it or not? Quite a lot of useful info and help on opelgt.com, not sure if you would find any help there? 13 hours ago, chrisb said: I have used Steve at Northampton Motorsport for many years as im pretty local to them, He is a great guy and extremely clued up.
