Volt meter reading low

if the battery is reading 14.2 volts or therabouts and everything is working as should be then the volmeter can actually be adjusted if needs be . there is a small adjustment screw but id measure voltage at fuses and maybee ignition switch too just to be sure. its not uncommon for the ignition switch to have bad contacts and let low voltage through but it usually shows up as a dimmly glowing battery light .

the voltmeter gets full 12v ( 14v) only the fuel and temp guage are affected by a bad dashboard voltage stabiliser
