Manta with pop up lights?

I'm trying to find out the model of my grandad's old sports car.

I'm convinced it was an Opel Manta and so do my parents, but Im also convinced it had pop up headlights?

Did any models or special editions get manufactured with pop up headlights?

I wish my parents had let me keep it when he passed away, but I was only young and the answer was no.  I loved that car.  Lots of memories.

Thanks in Advance

You sure its not the Opel GT? as that has popup headlights. Not see a manta with popup lights as standard as they are all located in the front grill.

Yep, definitely not a GT?  I'm looking through old family photos to see if there is one with the car in the background.

what sort of age are we talking here .are we definately thinking opel ?

i only ask as the years are flying by so quickly some people nowadays can call cars from the 90's a classic or 'old' car !.

that could put it more into the mazda / miata terrtory ? ( sorry !)

The 70's 80's, Opel bitter SC Coupe had pop up head lights. Really cool car.

That’s Bitter SC is a nice car for that money…they are seriously rare in the Uk now.

I’ve always hankered after a Bitter CD, but they are getting out of reach price wise now. Chevy V8 power and th styling was just beautiful. Rarely see any for sale as they only made 395 of them, and most went to the US. Be nice if it was one of them!
