clivecoupe Posted July 8, 2023 Share Posted July 8, 2023 Has any had any other thoughts on engine replacements? The red top in my coupe has given up in a big way. After finding it hard to find a good replacement at a reasonable cost the thoughts of an upgrade have started. Think about more power and a newer supply of replacement units. Been look at z20ler and z20leh. Has anyone had any experience get them fitted and running in rear wheel drive from and how hard was it to sort. The immobilisers and wiring are what I see as the main problem. My other more extreme idea is an LS2 crate motor. Or has any thought it’d any other donner engines that might work?! Big swing in ambition between a 4pot that’s close to the c20 config and an LS v8 crate engine lol. execman Posted July 10, 2023 Share Posted July 10, 2023 yes the B204 Saab is very popular, and I remember quite a few Novas running them when I went to the VBOA event about 5 years ago. its a very strong engine compared to the XE/Redtop.
