74009
Hi all, I'm looking for an Idle Control Valve for a standard 1986 2.0E GTE. Mine's been playing up for a while and it seems to be quite badly scored. Anyone happen to have one available please? Thanks, Stuart
Sutty2006
Can you get the part number off it? I might have one floating about you can have.

Jessopia74
I’m guessing it’s the Auxiliary Air valve, as on the later Motronic the similar valve position dud control idle. Have a read of this, whilst it’s not 100% the same, the setup section for the valve is. Page18 for fast track to it. http://alfa-wahnsinn.de/L-jetronic-america_gtv6.pdf

74009
Hi all, thanks for your replies - sorry for the slow response, had a bit of a busy couple of weeks. That was a very interesting document Jessopia74 - after following the instructions the car seems to be idling nicely again although I only had time for a quick test run today. I'm not sure if I'm fully out of the woods - it idled at 1000 rpm all the way from cold start to hot, except for when I stopped at one particular roundabout and it was nearer 1500 rpm - but oddly that only happened once. I think maybe I need to use some of the throttle cleaner on the throttle mechanism itself - it could be that it's not always returning fully to the idle position, and the matter of 1/2mm makes quite a difference. Jessopia74
Np, glad to see you have managed to make a little progress. They can look very complex to setup, but there are some good guides about that make setting up quite a simple process
