RetroRob
Struggling to find a car bodyshop restorer around Northamptonshire who will paint parts of my manta everywhere I've been don't want to know cheers Rob 👍
TheRealExile
It's very odd people not wanting work, I struggled as well in Glossop, they mainly want insurance work certainly the bigger places and when you do find a smaller outfit they are so busy you can wait years. If I could turn back the clock I'd paint it myself, never be quite as good as a time served pro but at least I'd be still driving it!
BarryD89
Not sure if Milton Keynes is a bit far for you, but Cool Classics MK have done great work on my cars in the past, and will be working on my Manta doors in the near future. The chap who did the recent partial restoration works also uses MH Autos (Mike Harvey) in Bletchley for all his painting (he does the prep work and then ships the panels over.) Mike has a great reputation for excellent paint in the local classic groups.

Irmscher Man
I’ve used paintworx in Daventry, and he is excellent. Trouble is his is a one man band and getting him to commit is a bit of a problem. He painted the bumpers on my hatch and the results were awesome. I’ve also used Brockhall Coachworks in the past, but not for a few years. They are in the town centre, down the back of the Kettering Road. https://brockhallcoachworks.co.uk
Paul Barrett
There’s a chap in bunting rd industrial estate, bobs body shop. He did quote me on the gold coupe some years ago but I sold it soon after as an A series came up that I still own. that was painted by Ian at excel on rothersthorpe industrial, I’m sure I spoke about that some time ago rob when dropping the bonnet off. Hi brother won’t let him any more ‘shitters’ in 🙄
chrisb
I too tried Algis at Paintwrx in Daventry as hes about a mile from my house, got messed about for nearly 5 months with promised start dates until one day he just sent an email saying he could no longer do my car !!. Which was a real shame as i really wanted him to do it.

Irmscher Man
Glad you are all sorted. Its certainly the business to be in but too many bodyshop dicking people around at the moment. Loads of place in Northants but they all seem to be stacked out. Perhaps its because of the shite standard of driving in the UK nowadays! The guy I now use is over in Suffolk so it means a covered trailer to get any work done but its worth the hassle/expense!
