Rick-Manta
I had the stupid idea of trying to see if I could make some improved 3D-printed solid headlamp seals for the later (more common) Manta square headlights, instead of having to use those flappy thin rubber ones, so I bought a pair of the OE metal surrounds for the very early Bs with the longer/deeper (hoooyeaaah) glass lens in an attempt to adapt them. This turned out to be more trouble than it's worth, so they're surplus to requirements now. They're quite scarce, but understand with that is a limited market too! In any case I'd like to get my money back on them so looking for £60 for the pair. A trade might also be an option as I wouldn't mind a few spares for my hatch such as bumpers, lights, wheels.. Thanks muchly.
®evo03
Do they only fit the deeper lens. Do you need to fit the rubber when fitting these?
Rick-Manta
Yes. No. I believe as I'm not 100% as never had a Manta with these before.
Paul Barrett
They will go over the later lense but fit correctly over the earlier type that were supposed to have them.
®evo03
Any chance of a photo with them fitted to standard, non original, later type lens. I never really looked close, didn't realise there are deep and shallow glass lenses. I may have both, and never knew?

Rick-Manta
Price drop to £40 including post and packing (through Evri) before they go on eBay--I'd rather take a slight loss than let eBay make 15% on them again!

I think mine and yours were the only ones for sale at one point. Demand is low, as the headlights are so bloomin rare it’s hard to replace them when broken! and yeah, I’ve pulled all my stuff off eBay, they take 15% of the postage cost which is always incorrect!

Supposedly it was because people were charging the price for the item as the postage and vice versa, but then eBay fixed postage/courier prices on a lot of categories (which in itself can be a c**t, as I had a 10kg package that eBay limited me to charge £3.50 for!!) but kept taking their cut! These were only on 1975 and--I believe--some early '76 Bs, so the number of them left is probably in double figures now; plus the later/normal lights can be used and look better. I thought about buying that LHD "phat" lamp you had for sale, putting on a trim and just keeping it as a display item.. and a thought it remained. No idea how I ended up with it 😂. I had planned on fitting deep headlights to my 76 but it’s only an S trim, and the surrounds came on SRs and Berlinetta. I sold my last surround to Dave Brown up in gods country for £30 posted. I no longer wish to sell anything on eBay unless it’s something that owes me nothing. I’d rather throw it away now!
