if you have no heater you require an astra mk1 gte dizzy to put in back with standard manta coil pack runs great.

fuel pump would be a facet silver top or red top pump in boot as they are a push pump not pull so fit in correct place for best results.

if your using carbs consider using a Nodiz unit to do the sparks ,in my experience it works infinatly better than any dizzy and doesn't take up any space (keep the heater the same) .

you can use the standard redtops crank sensor and other gm sensors with a ford wasted spark coil pack tp run it .

check out the site for details...

mention my name for a discount ;)

256 mm discs from an audi 80 machined center hole and redrilled bolt holes , with calibra 2.0 calipers would be ok, better than standard . you may want to go for somthing better if you going to be trackdaying .

Really? I had my red top works in the engine bay on my V8 exclusive, I'll have to remember that next time as I'm likely to need an electric pump on my current project eventually..

Rob, 'Retro Power' have a pallet load of brand new 1.8 sumps, much cheaper than what people pay on ebay for them so ask about for them as I don't know them personally but know of their excellent rep.

Which XE have you got, one with a dizzy in the back of the head or a later coilpack version?

If you've got a dizzy version then as Rutts says swap for a mk1astra or i believe a 1.6 cavalier dizzy, this is a proper dizzy that can be advanced to change the timing.

You need to remove the standard heater fan setup and swap to a smaller one. The micro heaters are getting good reviews and can be easily housed giving the room required.

If its a coil pack version putting a dizzy in the back is more work.

You could fit a dizzy along side the head at the front (manta 1.8 style) with the aftermarket alloy bracket or a modified 1.8 bracket, not done that but many people have

Or you can run an aftermarket ecu for the ignition like the excellent Nodiz setup Dan has

A programmable ecu is much better than a dizzy as you can get the timing spot on and play with the advance curve more which can make the engine much more drivable (but they do cost more) that would be my choice if you had a coilpack engine.

I have a front mount dizzy bracket to mount a dizzy like an 1800... Let me know if its any use to you, I bought it and realised my engine had a coil pack.

Brakes, ive got vectra calipers and 2.2 carlton disks... they work but hard braking you mght need something better for those track day kind of driving habbits ;)

Get some bigger wheels too. my 14inch ronals cant cope with the power anymore lol
