Malcolm Cliff
I noticed a leak of fluid on my brake valve,it has damaged the paint, where can I get a new one ?
cam.in.head
if its the 4 pipe original type fitted to most cars78- pre 83 ish they are prone to leaking. best bet is to replace with the later type vertical cylindrical unit. some pipework may need changing or re bending but they generally never leak. cam.in.head
thats ok then. wouldnt know that myself and personally would rather fit one that was designed for the car but i guess if the ratings are correct then it will work ok. Malcolm Cliff
My pal fitted the Mini brake valve recently, had to move the brakes pipes a little bit and fitted new nuts on the end of two of the pipes, works well,no leaks, all good. Before and after pics of brake valve.
Jessopia74
Should be very similar. Lots of cars of that age was fitted with a biased valve, some are adjustable too.

cam.in.head
that early type rarely leak but are getting harder to find. someone may have one (or just wirewheel, sand, sandblast etc the one you have maybee ? OR possibly convert to the later manta 4 pipe type if you ever change brake pipes .

seanpren
Gents Has anyone a pic or diagram of the pipes for vertical cylindrical type? Dismantled mine almost 10 years ago and lost most documents I had for stripping and rebuilding 😕 Looks like Bottom outlet to passenger wheel Top outlet to master cylinder 2nd from top possibly to master cylinder 3rd from top is still attached and has a banjo fitted so possibly master cylinder too as doesn't appear long enough to cross the bay and reach the wheel anyways

seanpren
Fantastic Mike thanks a million Could I trouble you for a pic of master cylinder whenever you get a chance?
Mike.
the brake line nearest servo is the bottom pipe running past the bulkhead, the brake line fitted into the brass fitting at the front of the master cylinder is the top brake line running past bulkhead. Drivers front brake line is from bottom of master cylinder. 1
