BarryD89
Looks like a water catch / scuttle. It’s to bring fresh air into the centre vents.
611
If its the big black bit its the heater housing, houses the heater matrix and has the heater fan and the inlet for fresh air from outside but also drains any unwanted water back in through the engine bay. Hard to find a good one with all the screw fixing points intact.

611
This is a view with the top off and fan out, you can see the heater matrix. it slides into the bottom part of it from the body side.
Diego LR
I have the car in Italy. I will be there next week. Perhaps I can get away with just the rubber that goes around the edges. I checked online and it is virtually impossible to find this part. 😢

I got the rubber trim from Dr Manta i think. What is the problem with yours?
Diego LR
I will check Dr Manta. Thanks The front side of the box was exposed to some overheating probably from the engine.

H-400
Hi Diego, google "heizungskasten Manta A" and "heizungskasten Ascona A" (your Manta is Left hand drive I suppose?) https://www.ebay.de/itm/134110506993?epid=557835201&hash=item1f399beff1:g:bUUAAOSwAS5dC7pv https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/heizungskasten-opel-manta-a/2367522895-223-3517

H-400
To be honest, I don't know. When you look at the pics at Ebay you see those heater boxes have a typical shape. Maybe you can confirm all Manta-A's have the same heater box?
Jessopia74
My AsconA sore came from Belgium with my rear hatch (can’t remember the seller, but he has a big shed full of part) and it looks identical part. However I do t have car here to double check 1
Diego LR
Thank you. That’s very useful. I think it was the same part across Kadett, Manta and Ascona those years. I need to learn some German 😁
