ANDY ABBOTT
After many years of trying to buy this mancona as it was built along side mine by my brother and Gaz Watson, a couple of week ago he decided to let it go so I've now got it in my collection 😎 will have to go through it and see what it needs Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. Jonathan Pounsett
Will you be keeping the V8?🤞 I imagine it’s quite exciting if you can get those carbs to open at the same time. 😂

paulmanta
Done well the V8 is an amazing drive, very smooth and lots of usable power. Depends on the gearbox though, a 5 speed manual LT77 is a good option, better is the TVR t5 box. Automatic wise there is the gm180 auto, like they fitted to the Mantas anyway so that makes the prop shaft and gearbox mounts nice and simple, and also the centre console and gear selector can all be made to look standard. or a host of others, Borg Warner and even a Jaguar box can be made to fit. Exhaust manifolds are "interesting" to get right but everything else is pretty simple. My own V8 has been in the Manta longer than it was in the Rover SD1 it came out of. ETA: that looks great in white with those Astra GTE mk1 skirts. Really love it. Edited June 11, 2023 by paulmanta 2
