Sutty2006
How big a hole did you cut? I dont really want to go cutting into the tunnel but if needs must i might have to, however with the screw adjuster being seized if it doesnt unseize i will have done it for nothing. ------------ Drift on!!!! Sutty2006
Well, ive finally got round to stripping the exclusive. Im glad I didnt continue welding this one. Id have spent thousands in wire alone! Turns out the whole thing was held together by the underseal (what was left). Rust In Piece. At least the 1800 engine lives in another manta now. Hey, thats two 1800 hatchs ive saved! ------------ Drift on!!!! OMOC 6081
bettyswallox
That second to last photo of the Manta sitting on it's roof made Betty feel really SAD...[][][][] PS Don't forget to take the glass....! [] !
midasmesh
It is sad to see but good to hear 2 have been saved. You can't save all of them. Keep up the good work Sutty. Sutty2006
Well, the floor on the n/s had totally gone and would have taken LOADS of work to make safe again. After finding crumbly bits UNDER the underseal i deamed it unsafe as MOT testers would not have smashed their ballpain hammer through the underside. It disheartens me even more to see this picture i have of when i got it! Doesnt look too bad here! ------------ Drift on!!!! Sutty2006
I thought id best put some lastest piccies up. Cashed in the tax after the water pump seal went. Now shes at my garage awaiting a new starter motor and just generally being stored for winter. So a few pics before she went into hibernation. Ive taken the ugly front splitter off. Thats got welders name on it before the vultures are let loose. And only last week I got round to fitting the bilstein tarmac rally shocks to the rear. Got them for 30 gold coins. Took it for a blast round the country lanes, felt great! ------------ Drift on!!!! OMOC 6081 Recovery work taken.
