Thanks kev!

Tony, I may well go for that box, as the Beemer option is looking trickier for not a lot more gain for what I want to achieve initially.

Sorry Paul I missed that post. I'll arrange a meet up. if youre coming to Warwick way to collect maybe my rostyles can come for the ride :);)

Managed a couple of hours tonight after work,

Lower rear arms complete now, blasted up and primered, will be keeping them in the warm to keep them dry until I have a batch of stuff to epoxy paint up, really chuffed how they have turned out, not perfect but dimensionally they are matched within half a mm and haven't warped as much as I expected.

Next up is the top arms, which shouldn't take as long now I've got the hang of it.

Despite working today too I've managed to squeeze in a few hours.

Made a start on the top arms, namely the camber adjuster I've done both to get them matching effectively. I created the Clevis then drilled it out to pass the m20 fine thread 12.9 bolt through then weld, much neater than just welding it straight on, then plates the top an bottom to add more strength, then a quick blast to clean up.

Not much to report but have made a few key purchases and deals

Picked up an engine crane today from a guy on retrorides , sold the old one as it didn't have enough reach on the manta front end

Also have now bagged a supra w58 gearbox for buggerall and sourced a celica gt4 flywheel to get machined and lightened for the 1uz manual conversion. So next on the cards is to make an adapter plate to mate the auto bell housing to the box,

got some time in the 'shop' today, stripped down the w58 to see its condition, was told it was not used on a turbo supra or abused, but just want to make sure before I go to the effort painting it all up and change oil etc..

well the oil needs changing for sure, looks like water has got in somehow too possibly because it looks to have stood for some time, no metal chips or big swarf to be seen which is a good sign. some light scores on the teeth of the sycnros but a good clean down and refresh and ill be happy, any opinions or things to check mucho appreciated!

Got to it making some gaskets, local parts place had some gasket paper luckily in larger sheets, dirt cheap too.

Also got the casings cleaned up well enough for an etch prime then some grey machine enamel, I'm happy how there come out considering how rough the casting is!

Got a bit of a problem here with the speedo pickup, it rather chewed up, I'm not bothered if i use a mechanical or electric pickup but would rather use the gearbox for a pickup than the planned diff pickup as will be neater

Thanks Kevin!

I'm yet to work all that out, as need the pressure plate and friction plate. I've been informed it's critical that the bearig doesn't over extend or it will pop out etc, so correct master is a must and a form of adjustment to stop at the correct point.

After around 5 times bolting together etc got the box together, I never learn.... Take pictures if things like this when I take them apart saves a lot if time on rebuilding!

Then got to work on the tilton release bearing. I've decide to use the mount that came with it, is for bmw m3, but a few more holes and some studded rod to use the gearbox end plate mount holes and jobs a Goodun, well hopefully if my calcs are correct, really need clutches now to measure up.

Then started a bit of CAD, got some templates cut up, grubby hands work wonders,

Also got a caliper bracket cut and welded up for one of the rear uprights and made a start on the upper arm as I now have some bent tube to play with, reason being to create some room for exhaust run,

Nice chunk of ally plate arrived this morning, looks too nice for me to butcher!

Well I did butcher it, I am going to admit I did cock up with the holes drilled for the bell housing, but luckily there is enough for me to re-align, so got to it stitch drilling out the centre portion to fit to the gearbox so I can line up the output shaft to the crank with bell housing in situ and mark up the plate where it will bolt to the bellhousing, if you get my drift'
