brianm Posted January 4, 2011 Author Share Posted January 4, 2011 got the coupe round to the garage today and made a start stripping it , a bit rotten but not as bad as i thought . front end will be replaced with a good used one ,thanks to mantaray ,and a pair off wings that came from him as well ,have loads off other new parts to repair the shell ,main mission is to strip it and repair the front end before i put it on the rollover jig . some pics of todays goings on next job ,drop the engine ,box and front suspension out in one complete unit Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Must say though I cannot remember the last time I saw a Berlinetta Coupe, and so refreshing to see someone making the tools they need to get the job done. brianm Posted January 11, 2011 Author Share Posted January 11, 2011 thanks for all the comments,the garage was purpose built for my last project, after it was finished started looking for a manta to fill it don't think it will be finished for the summer this year maybe next, the last one took just over 2 years to complete . this is it ,1984 mk1 astra GTE full bare shell resto ,took it to billing 2009 won the treasurers trophy for best post 1975 standard car in show , been featured in total vauxhall Dec 2009 ,won some other awards at local classic car shows ,was invited to PVS last year by total vauxhall but couldn't make that . so the mantas got a lot to live up to lol 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
