i have asked numerous times for extra pictures of the underside and interior and got nothing back really. I gave up in the end.

From what you can see in the pics that looks eminently savable and not a breaker,it would have to be a DIY job to make it feesible though.

Going by its current condition it had a hard unloved 63k of use before being dry stored for 26 years....visually it looks like its done another 100k on top of that.....just noticed that the ecu is in the engine bay for some reason

What would be a fair price to pay for this then about the £800 mark maybe

That was an 1800 before it was converted to a GTE.  Its the only reason I can think of that the ecu would be in the engine bay, you need to drill a big hole in an awkward place to run the ecu wiring and its often not done.

Also, the rubbing strips on the side were a Berlinetta 1800 thing, not GTE.
