Vince
Easy DIY if you simply cut the rubber to save the screen.
Jonathan Pounsett
I had an assistant push the window from inside while I eased the rubber over the lip. It’s an easy job if you take your time - if you rush it the screen will come out in two pieces! Replacement windscreen rubbers are very had to find! H-400
I push the rubber from the inside over the lip with a big flat screwdriver. First the top, than the pillars. When the pillars are done you can take the window with rubber up out of the car. Make sure the screwdriver is not sharp, so you don't damage the rubber. Be carefull with the roof liner, it is glued on the lip.
Jessopia74
As both rubbers and screens are rare / expensive , I pay the £40 to get the screen fitted. removal us far easier as it essentially is just pushed out.
cam.in.head
i must admit that getting them out is fairly easy and putting back in even easier but the time consuming part (to me) is cleaning all the old sealer out of all the nooks and crannys of the rubber seal. i cant imagine any windscreen fitter will take much time over this and its fairly crucial to get a good water tight seal afterwards even thou they always need sealer as well. also fitting the finishing strip.even with the correct tool can be a pain.
