Insky
I have an 84 Manta GTJ with some wear to the drivers seat bolster. It's not holed or ripped just worn and although not that large i feel it lets the car down. I have someone who will fix it if i can find the matching material, that's the trouble despite searching online nothing is coming up. The colour is either black or charcoal and i think it may be called Donegal tweed, again i might be wrong on that one. I have tried a few suppliers including Martrim who don't have it. Some samples i have been sent are close to matching but not perfect. I was wondering if any member knows of somewhere that i could try to find the right material and point me in the right direction. Thanks
BarryD89
Photos will probably help 🤓
Jessopia74
Guess it’s like my Berlinetta seats. Been looking myself passively for a couple of years, and it seems the best solution would be cloth from another set of seats in the same colour fabric from new. The chap who dud my other seats suggested to get the rear seat swab as it will be a good size section, be less worn and aged so should be a closer match. Insky
Your seats look like the same fabric as mine, i also have been looking for a spare seat with the same fabric but they are as scarce as hen's teeth. i also thought about taking a section from the back seat fitting that to the front and replacing the back with a fabric that almost matches. At least it would be less noticeable but i would have to speak to my trimmer to see if it can be done.
Sutty2006
I’m sure @welder was selling a set of front seats that some material could be used from.
cam.in.head
if you don't need much at all then it might be worth whipping out your back seat base ( or back too if it's a coupe) to see if there's any "spare" fabric on the back ? sometimes there can be a bit of extra that wasn't cut off when the seats were made ?? or also .. maybe a wander round a scrapyard to see if anything matches ? Insky
I already have looked at the back and underside of all the seats and they made such a neat job of covering them there is no spare fabric.
®evo03
Shame, as most early seats where binned. Managed to get some spare Honeycomb material, that is ultra rare, only came in early CIH GTJ. From a OMOC member 👍 Seen a few recently looking early red, tan, and blue velour seat material. Any good car upholstery suppliers?
Insky
I've tried a few and had samples sent out but none are an exact match, mind you the fabric i'm looking for was from forty years ago.
rutts
Don't know where you are but you could try egbert de boer in Holland, he may have a passenger seat from a LHD manta same material.
