Where abouts are you in the contry? north, south? sounds like you have a lot of welding to do but as thats your job your in a good position as all mantas need welding. piggy1988gte
hi all, thanks for the hellos, the difference with myself and 99.9 percent of others i enjoy gatting my hands dirty, im not a engine bay polisher im a spanner monkey . im only 28 and iv built a stock car, locost and restored a few classics like this before and iv turbo'd a mk4 polo 16v what was kicking out over 200bhp on a bar of boost, so a little welding is nothin to be scared of, the body aint that bad, sills wings doors boot inter wing shelf back archs have all gone but the roof is only blistering and as i paid not a peeny for this car and the engine runs after six years the clutch works the box work i think i will be on to a winner, even if i have to rebuild to bottom of the car isn't it worth doin to get one of the most beautifull cars back on the road, i hope to get some moor pics asap i cant wait to get started now, oh yeh im not a welder fab for a living anymoor im a trucker for wilkos although i did do a 5yr apprentiship this is only now a hobby. thanks agina pig Wow! 2908642343
Looks like you have some work to do there.......... a good steam clean is in order to understand what bits are good and what is bad. Looking at the picture:- A pair of wing rails - left and right side are available on E-Bay UK at the moment Pair of Wings - Second hand ones are available Drivers door - Second hand one are available Nose Cone - could be repaired, or chopped and swapped for a second hand one Head lights - good second hand one are available Will be intresting to seem some more pictures of the underside, floor and chassis legs, there are available as aftermarket products from Germany. I will be watching this thread with much intrest... John

keith1200
MK1 wings will fit Keep your eye open on here or ebay. New for old stock? £250 each! good 2nd hand set, will set you back, roughtly £100, ones needing work? hmm £40- upwards, depending on condition and your batering skills However! someone with the right skills and time, could fix wings in an similar condition as yours!(it wouldnt be me) Members might remember the guy from Russia, who posted on here about 18 months ago? who rebuilt his doors and wings???
