dog321fish
Berlinetta had moulded side trims as standard, not certain about GTE though. Manta GT on ebay has trims, did not know they made a GT, I know they made a GTJ http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fabulous-Opel-Manta-2-0-GTE-One-Owner-Full-Diary-Log-and-just-69-501-Miles-/280868859975?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item416516b047 Edited April 24, 2012 by dog321fish

rutts
some GTEs had the side bump strips. manta 1.8 gt was a basic 1.8 with no passenger mirror or rear wiper if i remember and other little bits missing.
MANTAMAN
though it's rare there were a few GTE's that had side rubbing strips, dont know how they came to be there, a production line quirk? special order? i remember once seeing a grey GTE with side rubbing strips, on investigation they were factory fitted, the inside of panels had no sign of them being there and the original paint was still intact, in other words they weren't add at a later date, the clips to hold the strip on weren't welded or screwed in place later in the Manta's life and new paint put on the inside of the panel.. and it wasn't a converted 1800 as it had the factory airflow meter brackets in original paint.
