Rick-Manta
Oh noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! This would be perfect for me and I bought the 1.8 hatch a couple of months ago, so wouldn't be able to afford this There's me struggling with a differential (which is remedial and not restoration) and the ideal car comes along, ah well lives and learns don't ya!? Thanks for the link Dave, I will be watching it regardless .......anyone want to buy an Anthracite Berlinetta hatch?
Rick-Manta
A shame the pics are so small, the dash clocks appear to have a green light which wasn't on the early clocks and I think until 1987 onwards.

Fermanta
i think the green light is a mod, Talking of dash lights, mine don't work. Is it a big job to removed the instrument pod & change them?
Kevin Abbott
Talking of dash lights, mine don't work. Is it a big job to removed the instrument pod & change them? You don't need to remove the pod. The light holders pop out and are small 5 w festoon bulbs IIRC. You could replace them for LEDs

What is the part number of the LEDs by the way? Thank you.
GTREA
You need the T5 type 286 LED globes for the Manta from the looks of it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2053587.m570.l1313.TR11.TRC1.A0.H0.Xled+286&_nkw=led+286&_sacat=0&_from=R40 LED globes vary greatly, I have had fantastic results where your old dimly lit 80's dash glows like a Modern cars, and some very average results where the light pattern given off by the globes only lights a small portion of the dash , don't buy the real cheap ones, as the quality is not good and they tend to blow quite regular, which can be a pain Edit: I would probably go for this style as they give a better spread of light on your dash rather than the single LED versions Edited February 21, 2014 by GTREA

And why is the number late lamp mentioned?
Kevin Abbott
you can get better light lust by removing the paper covering the light on standard bulb holders in the dash. LEDs give better light and you can get different shades of white. Just get a cheap pair ( or 10 ) of 12v LEDs and solder them into standard bulb holders Hell, give me your address and I'll send you a couple to play with. Just note the + and - on each before soldering I added LEDs to my keyboard and soldered then into the ' scroll lock' button on the keyboard, now I press scroll and hey ho illuminated keyboard. I like LEDS, I've just replaced the under cupboard florescent lights in the kitchen for LEDs too
