The lamps are all good and they are lucas lamps with the flat lenses. Thanks

Snowy
The gold door would not shut easily and could not be adjusted to fit the striker. So I wondered why? Never seen this kind of damage to a door before. Shame too as it is rot free. But I wasn't sure I could pull this out and straighten the door as you can see it is twisted on the lower hinge. Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. So I set about swapping it for a spare door. But the only door I had was fitted to a coupe so I had too swap all the glass over... Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. I didn't take any pictures as I'm sure everyone knows how to swap the internals over and set a door glass up. It takes about twenty minutes. But to make life easier I took the front wing off. Much easier getting to the hinge pins from here. This is what greeted me. I'm quite happy, seen a lot worse. Does anyone have or know where you can buy the little white plastic inserts for attaching the GTE side skirts to the sills? I'm missing most of mine. CRAZYDAVE
Hi mate have you seen these? http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Manta-B-Cavalier-mk1-headlight-/252344928273?nav=SEARCH http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Manta-B-Cavalier-mk1-headlight-/252344904645?nav=SEARCH
Snowy
Well just did a little more poking around today. Typical areas rotten as usual Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. So all the front trim will be coming out this week to allow cutting and welding of the area. I think all the foam protection might come off as all it does is trap water against the steel. The sound deadening properties aren't worth it.

plumster
Make em an offer Snowy, although £85 is probably realistic for something no longer available, Vauxhall Green parts wanted £148 + vat for the same thing.

I made an offer of £60 each. Just because something's rare doesn't make them valuable. Plenty of good second hand ones available and getting them re silvered isn't expensive either.

MANTAMAN
Just out of interest, where has this Manta appeared from ? i don't recall seeing pictures of it elsewhere and it is a Manta that would be memorable because of the "large slot" alteration to the nose on a hatch. Kevin Abbott
Yea , another hatch being saved It looks like a nice shell. The grill mod was popular in the 90s. Trev Lewis used to do a fibreglass replacement like that. If you find the tank requiring repair I can put you in touch with a place that's just done mine and it's good

Snowy
So time to repair the area under the washer bottle. There is only one way to repair this properly. That's to take it all out as the rot starts in the flanges. But before I started I removed the sound deadening from the floor. As when the welder comes out it's all getting done in one go. Snowy
Thanks to work getting in the way not much done today. Removed lots of wires running from the front of the car to the back. Not sure what they were for? Also where does the wire for the side repeaters normally come from on a GTE. I thought they came through the A panel to the indicator. This car has wires, none standard, running from the front indicators back to the side repeaters? Made my card template today for the washer bottle repair.
