Oil Pressure 90 Degree Adapter

Hello All!

Hopefully someone can shed some light for me. I’ve recently converted my Cavalier 1600’s 3 Gauge Dash to the Manta/Ascona 6 Gauge.

This means i have the addition of an Oil Pressure Gauge / Light rather than just the Light on the 3 Gauge.

Onto the topic….coming to fit the 2 Connecter Oil Pressure Sender i need a 90 Degree Adapter to Clear the Manifold and to combat my wires being burnt. But trying to source an adapter is blowing my head away.

I presume it’s M14x1.5 as the Original Sender but it’s trying to source an adapter of said size. I just keep finding 1/8 NPT ones. Any help will go a long way.

I have just gone though this ( a right pain)

The thread on a 2.0 CIH engine block is M 14x 1.5 , the 90 degree adapter which the oil pressure switch fits to is M 12x 1.0

l did not find a new one anywhere.

Did get a adapter but it was to tall to fit into the 90 degree adapter to a 1/8 NDP as it hit the exhaust manifold.as for the wiring just adapted so it out of the way

have got a new sensor M14 x1.5 and a 1/8 NDP

If you look at lrish blue on project on page 15/16 the is a lot of information

The best way to this is to remove the manifold’s

I see.

i do have an Original 2.0 CIH Oil Pressure Sender i just need to try and source an Elbow that goes from the block to the Sender, preferably 90 Degrees. Abit like how yours faces upwards, i need to somehow get it like that. If not i have a clearance issue as there’s no elbow.

I’ve followed the thread about your similar problem but with no real avail. My block used to accommodate the 1600 Oil Pressure Sender which is super small and doesn’t need an elbow. So i’m just stuck on finding said elbow.

I really need one of them if anyone could point me in the right direction.

It’s hard to find a new one of the same design as everything's 1/8 NPT

Have a look on AliExpress - cheap crap from China. I bought similar fittings (but for a different engine) and it was 304 stainless steel.

You could always remote it..short length of braided hose from the block to the sender, mounted at a point away from the heat of the exhaust manifold?

If it's any use, VDO sender numbers with different threads are:

360-009 is 80psi 1/8NPT sender, 7 psi warning contact
360-028 is M14x1.5, -006 is M10 x 1

Was thinking of doing this but didn’t know what thread was into the block, this is a good idea

I did try that ,not a chance of it coming out , l think the casting will brake before it moved

Very tight but weld a nut on and with the heat and extra torque of a long spanner it will come out. Done a good few this way.
