Christ
thanks it is, of course, modified slightly and for those that don't know - it's a Schwinn Stingray, surely the perfect accompaniment for a Manta - this project's not just thrown together you know

mantaray
What did you hit Chris ? If it was road kill, I hope you had a good feast on it. Love the repair, just makes your car even more "Mad Max"
opel2000
Blimey Chris..... Looking at the pic of the fuel pumps in the boot, it struck me that in the past it was always full of at least half a ton of ICE. Seems dead weird to see your boot like that. Christ
......whats the nice course for the car? eh? What did you hit Chris ? If it was road kill, I hope you had a good feast on it. Love the repair, just makes your car even more "Mad Max" No mate, no road kill, just some ijit at a local car show directed us across a field which ripped it apart Blimey Chris..... Looking at the pic of the fuel pumps in the boot, it struck me that in the past it was always full of at least half a ton of ICE. Seems dead weird to see your boot like that. yeh, ICE went a while ago, wasn't really listening to it so all it was doing was weighing the car down. lifted the back end over an inch when it came out most of it is gradually making its way into the SX atm
*energy*
sorry my bad typing there..meant to ask....whats the next course for the car/whats the next plan for it?
Christ
aah, I see. No concrete plans, probably do a bit of work on the bodykit (not keen on a few aspects) and rebuild the engine, try and eek out a bit more power.......

Christ
Thanks for taking the time to read it So, what's new.. Made some new tailpipes.... Got something to replace the ally battery box.... But the colours were all wrong, so after a little work something more in keeping...... Stripped the engine down to find some scored bores... A good honing managed to remove them, still visible but not to the touch and stuck and broken piston rings... Replaced broken rings and cleaned all the pistons bought some lightweight pulleys (old crank pulley 1.6kg, new one 665g) and made a better alternator adjuster.. lightweight flywheel the other end (4.1Kg, old one was 7.6Kg).... After retropowers recomendations an uprated calibra turbo clutch cover and plate from techniclutch and new BE bearings.. To compensate for the skimmed head (-.55mm) and decked block I'd been using a Regal autos 1.9mm MLS HG, this time I bought 2 std ones for a Z20LET, combined them (minus 2 layers) to get the same end product.... Block re-built..... New flywheel requires M8 clutch bolts, rather then the M7 std ones, which I didn't realize until trying to fit it yesterday Edited March 21, 2011 by Christ
