sam d
Well thort i'd start a project thread to show how im going on with my manta gte. I bort it about 2 months ago off ebay with the intention of sorting a few rust spots then getting it on the road for summer but that soon went out of the window cos i kept finding new holes! There werent any nasty surprises just loads of little ones!! Usual places have gone sill, footwells, battery tray and arches. So the plan now is get the welding sorted, underseal and rust treat the whole car then a full respary. So far the welding is all done bar a small hole i found on the n/s door bottom and so is the undersealing. Iam going to the bodyshop tomorrow to get a quote to paint the car hopefully wont to be dear. (what sort of prices have people paided for resprays? And any good classis car sprayers in the yorkshire region?) If all goes well it will be doing in in a couple of weeks. Iam keeping the car bog standard because thats how i believe they should be. There not the fastest cars in the world but i want people to look at and admire the car not just see a blury car shape as you fly past plus i have a 280bhp astra gsi for that!!ha Heres the pictures ive tried me best to put them in stage order cheers put more pics up soon wont let me do them all

MANTAMAN
Just a question about the colour of these coupes, are they painted in the silvery grey colour Opel/Vauxhall call Platinum? I can think of four grey shades put on a Manta - Platinum (which may have only been applied to exclusives) Dolphin Grey (which may never have been applied to Exclusives) Steel Grey (a short lived colour, late 86 to mid 87, i think!) and Anthracite (again,Exclusive only?)
