Cone8v
I have a set of pristine twin headlight masks and carriers on my other manta, is it possible to make another copy of them by 3d printing or a similar method. Has anyone here tried it? The ones i found online for sale are all beat up and half destroyed. Can i buy them new anywhere?
Sutty2006
I’ve never seen any for sale new. Ever. Some folk say they’ve successfully taken them off and refitted but how true this is is yet to be seen and believed. I think 3d printing would only work if you can use a less brittle plastic, as they have to stretch when you fit them.
IanG
Last new ones I bought was 1990 from the IOW!
Mike.
I had to heat up the surrounds with a hairdryer to get them pliable enough to mould round the headlights, works great.

Could probably do that with a modded metal frame version as they do have some material that could be taken off, or the whole back of the light modded further back. Guess that’s one advantage of easy access to 3D printing (commercial grade) as prototype manufacturing is easy now. Quite like that though, would give larger selection of light options with inner been the lenses type like on the modern cars
Cone8v
What do you mean by "nice play". Edited March 21 by Cone8v
®evo03
It could be made with old headlight, glass type, and quad round lights, or as Jess said made from new methods, 3d printing. I am free to play with a few square lights for my next project. This is another idea.
