Manta a track adjustment

my right front wheel is further forward than the left and with my 15” wheel’s catches the front panel on left lock, can this be adjusted??

the only adjustment is the upper arm but that only adjusts backwards but it is only a small amount. really need the castor and camber checking to see what is going on.

take both wheels off and see where the washers on the inboard side of the top wishbone are if they are both the same something on the suspension is bent or the body

Certainly something not right, more investigation needed.

Has a top arm been replaced in the past ? (thinking - the wrong hand fitted)

On the A the lower arm is positioned by the anti-roll bar that goes into the lower arm with a bush. These bushes wear badly which allow wheel movement so check that and also check the antirollbar isn't mounted off centre or bent

not owned an "a"but it sounds similar to the carlton mk1/2 setup althou its a forward track arm rather than rearward but same principles would apply . bush wear at any end of this track arm would allow the lower arm to move ( as also mentioned would an incorrect upper arm but would think it would move things more severely .!)

if if were me .i would initially check bushes then set car up on level ground and measure the castor and camber angles .

also worth checking (even just basic visually ) that the front crossmember top mount is ok . highly unlikely its not but you never know?.(and side chassis mounts ) but my guess is on track bar bushes !

As above, it will be something worn on the anti roll bar or lower arm and when you have bigger wheels and wider tyres on you will find on full lock it tends to move with worn or older bushes. You will probably find its more noticeable on full lock in reverse. I don't think you will full remove the movement as mine does it with 205 x 55 x 15's on full lock in reverse with all new bushing (and some are poly)

Also check the front valance to see how that lines up as there can be a bit of a difference from one side to the other as there is quite a bit of movement when bolting that lower part up to the wings.

I couldn't solve mine so i folded the lower edge of the valance to stop it doing it.

These were originally fitted with 14's and probably 165 tyres so bigger and wider will be much closer, so it does not take too much movement to get close to the valance on full lock.

Also getting a bit of movement, can't pin point where exactly, but think its more tracking. 

Anyone ever try a good video camera, got a drift helmet cam, with a clamp mount, thinking of maybe testing it, see does it pick it up?

could be worn in the upper range of movement so only moves under deflection or rebound, then is mostly normal in settled position

All bushes are new I’m going to loosen the anti roll bar and see what happens, it’s considerably further forward than the left side.

iv bought the car about 8years ago from a family of the deceased owner so no questions to be asked.

Have the anti roll bar bushes been replaced? as if they are old it would let the anti roll bar move about. And the bushes in the lower arms that the anti roll bar ends locate into, have they been replaced? or have you checked they are bolted up correctly?

Maybe not fitted square/ sided when bolted to rear chassis arms.
