My immediate reaction to seeing your first picture was 'I like the colour'. So I'd leave it just as it is.

But bear in mind I also like chocolate brown bathroom suites so I've no taste in colours at all.[:I]

I agree about big wheels on older cars though. I don't really like them (unless you need them to fit bigger brakes of course).

Cheers,

Joe.

id="size3">Hi Opel-valver,Nice car, I would keep it blue, does it need a repaint, the finish look good in the photo or pehaps yellow/white. Have taken several photo's at Billing, in the past, like this one...

That is just so sweet opel-valver.

Those Kadetts do have such a charm about them.

as far as big wheels go on old cars, they simply have to suit the car, seen a lot of modern style big wheels on old cars and they just don't work at all.

Also the ride height has to be "right"

Also the wheel arches have to be correct too, take the rear arches on the A series Manta, they never suit a low suspension drop and big modern wheels in my opinion, the arches just do not follow the arc of the wheel and this disrupts the eye as to what it finds correct and not correct.

I was actually thinking that the ATS alloys do actually look very fitting on that, I'm not one to go for original stuff either, but they do look good with that colour.

AND furthermore......... I'm sure there is more room in the Kadett bay than the Manta due to the lack of chassis rails that the Manta has.

I like the colour of the car is looks really well as for rims maybe 15 inch revolutions, thought the rims you have look fine and seem to fill the arches well, only thing I would change is the colour of the engine bay, same colour as the car would be really neat [^]

Thats a great looking car, always liked the coupe "being a true opel fan un'all) i would go with those classic ats alloys every time unless its caliper room your looking for.

well thats kinda the problem, i was going to put cavalier mk3 calipers on it and carlton vented disc, but i wont be able to use my ats 13" wheels, so was thinking of putting nova gte/gsi calipers then ill still be able to use the ats wheels

Nice car mate

My little brother has one of those with a cih in it and it's bright red.

I don't suppose you have a couple of spare doors for the kadett c coupe as his are well gone?

What did you do to move the servo and what did you do about converting the accelerator link to a cable one?

Cheers

Kev

i tryed to get a set of doors for my one lastyear as spares, but no joy....... the servo is from a nova and the master cylinder from a astra mk2.. i made ends up at my work to fit the car and the servo, then welded a pipe joining them, inside the pipe the servo is linked to the pedal with threaded bar, getting it the right size was a bit of a nitemare, so as to get the pedal sitting level with the others, the pedal im using is from a ford escort, just bolted throught the floor, as it has the correct end for a cable...........

I dont like to say this chaps, but I saw one of these getting raced at a banger meet last year[V].....real shame as they are so few about. I dont think there was a panel spared by the end of the race[B)], but he did win!

Still , the blue looks sweet and fresh also, must admit I thought the photos were to show a finished project[:I]. Wheels look right ,but I think I would go wider if anything was to change or another style perhaps from the same period ish, not crazy modern. Other thing is ,once you repaint to a new colour , it may be easier to imagine what will suit, which may also help with brake options if you end up going bigger, just me tuppence worth.

Nice Motor[;)]

Hi,your right regarding calipers, another way would be to use early manta/ascona/mk1 cav twin piston calipers but the disks would not be vented.I used these years ago on a chevette i road rallyed.

The purple one reminds me of Martin's old 1.8 coupe.

I love the shape of that kadett, it's got a sort of cute but deadly shape.

I like all the colours apart from white, red or gold. I was very close to bidding on an Orange one which was for sale in the NW a couple of years ago. I would love to ahve one of these kadetts in the future but they seem extremely rare.
