Jonathan Pounsett Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 Very clean and tidy. Spotless interior. Great if you like red. Quote
plumster Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 Erm, what is at the front of this pic? There's nowt like that under my bonnet. Quote
cam.in.head Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 looks like a pair of air horns yes nice cav. the 4 dr versions are the best of the bunch and with the best wheels this is a good car for someone. hopefully it will not be too bad underneath. rust free examples do exist but are thin on the ground now . 1 Quote
mepbowles Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 I saw this. It looks great if you like red cars. The 1.6 isn't ideal, perhaps that's why there's not even a photo of the engine. 1 Quote

I’m guessing it’s not going to be bought as a daily - not everyone want to build a rally race replica. 😏 3 Quote

cam.in.head Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 no and it would be a shame to butcher it . the 1.6 is not a ball of fire granted but perfectly capable and in that condition should be suitable as a daily driver too. why not. thats what it was designed for after all. i use all mine as dailys including the viva .all in rotation ,all year round. mot'd as normal but obviously free tax . 3 Quote

As nice as the 1.6 may be, I'm happy with the oomph of my 1.9 4 door. Presumably people say the same of the 1.9 to 2.0 but as you say, for everyday driving, you don't need much for a bit of fun. I do hope this is used as is, it's nice to see them out and about. 1 Quote
cam.in.head Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 it does look a very good unmessed with example. still has the correct front shock washers, bonnet release cable clip and early type brake valve. loose the stupid horns thou ! if what you can see is anything to go by then i reckon the underside wont be too bad ,if at all.
