blackskygtr
Weld in replacement sill, treat with jenolite and zinc primer Cut out footwell and rebuild door pillar both skins. Treating with Jenolite, seam sealed and coated in zinc primer Replace inside door pillar with parts from donor car for factory look. Again treated and primed Replace both wing rails and treat as above. And that is where it's at now, hoping to get some more done at the weekend but she is now pretty much solid on passenger side :-D :-D Watch this space Suz

®evo03
top work, what is the 2 door jap motor, you have taken the floor pan from? Top work, im sure they are some on here have scrapped cars in better condition, (Shame too you all) Gives a new vision on what can be done with these cars. Great work, any pics of underneath, and do the chassis rails meet up where they should be?
Suzy
It was a 200sx the older one with flip up light. It started as sarcasm when i threatened to cut the other halfs skyline floorpan out and from there we started to think perhaps wasn't so daft an idea and looked at what other 3dr rear wheel coupes there were. A friend was scrapping this so went and measured it up and was right size. Think it cost £100 for the car with no engine gearbox etc, plus using lots of other bits to replace panels. Have to say couldn't believe how well it fitted was perfect. We have still got to turn it back over and weld the bottom and take pics. We will probably use the chassis rails from the 200 and hopefully all will match up where it should go.
keith1200
WoW! Are you going to replace the Nissan tunnel with the Manta one? The gearbox mounts will need to be spot on. I would recommend 'weld through primer' for all the internal welding bits. Brilliant project
Suzy
WoW! Are you going to replace the Nissan tunnel with the Manta one? The gearbox mounts will need to be spot on. I would recommend 'weld through primer' for all the internal welding bits. Brilliant project No going stay as is, the front tunnel fits spot on and the rear is slightly bigger. Also gives potential for the future to do a very nice engine and gear box conversion Particularly seeings i also have the rear running gear from the 200 still
Suzy
Time for the next update. We are really getting solid now thinking another couple of days work and the welding will be done :-D Both outer sills, inner sills and arches are now in, jenolited and primed with anti rust paint. The footwells have been shaped and finished, with just the tunnel and floor to weld when we turn her over again. The rear of the floorpan has been joined internally with just the welding underneath to be done. The front wheelarches have been rebuilt and finished. The pics i think will say it all. It was the turn of the back end of the car this time. New panels helped and some more fettling to be done Not far off being 100% solid now :-D :-D Get rid of the bent rear panel Spoiler holes had shot through Boot floor had gone too In with new genuine panel In with new genuine panel Both tops of rear quarters repaired Boot floor repair Suz now has some further work on the boot floor to do and the dreaded roof skin. Chassis rails need tying together and that it Onto the bodywork. Another good day or two though Jay

Suzy
Thanks guys, Just thought would put a post us to let you know she hasn't become another unfinished project just have been so busy with work that not had time to do much at all to her recently. Hopefully will be able to finish all the welding and bodywork mods very soon. Then once we have sold a couple of our other toys she'll be coming back to our house to get the bodywork ready to paint. And madness does run in our family lol Suzy Edited December 9, 2009 by Suzy
