evo3000
Just got these for mine,i use these in addition to a quite expensive breathable covers as I don,t have a garage, and the onset of winter etc etc.... An absolute must for your manta, even if you have a garage. You can get them from supermarkets for a pound a go aswell. You will be amazed at how much water they trap http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181855534081?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Edited November 14, 2015 by evo3000
TheRealExile
Yep, agreed they are really good... put them in the back bog to try and stop the mold but they work a treat in the lads car as well

Berlinetta
Thanks for the link...must get some. How long would one last (approx) in a Manta stored outdoors for the winter? I too have an expensive breathable cover over mine for the winter (see pic).
plumster
Cheers for the tip, will give them a try this winter.
garymanc
Buy the refillable type them ones are rubbish
mantasrme
I use the cheap disposable ones and they work well. There's always a couple in the car when its parked on the drive. Man they can absorb a load of water from the air in a manta, help a lot in winter as its less likely you find ice on the inside of the window with these in. TheRealExile
WOW! your lads car has got a bog in the back, useful. It might well have hidden under all the rubbish he chucks in the back of it
garymanc
from 2 of the reusable ones 250 ml of water collected in about a month and my car has been covered up outside. Whatever type you use it takes a while till they start working so its best to rotate two by refilling or replacing at different times
plumster
I have ordered a pack of 10, just gonna stick em all in while the car is in the garage over winter.
evo3000
tbh gary I was not aware of those refillable ones, but the disposable ones work well and there so cheap, and will last a good few months easy. Will last the winter out anyway, once the crystals turn to gel they are pretty much done, but I keep an eye on the amount of water there collecting aswell. I have x5 in mine but will use the other 5 like gary says to rotate or change. Edited November 16, 2015 by evo3000
garymanc
Worth using them all year round as well as there's always damp in all our lovely weather
mantasrme
The reusable ones i've seen can be knocked over and the water spilled out. The throw away ones have a cleaver membrane inside so even upside down the water doesn't come out.
garymanc
I wedge mine into the rear screen when I go for a drive, not tipped over yet touch wood even after a proper drive. I did top the disposable ones up but that leaked lol
mantaray
Have used the disposable ones in the caravan for the last few years. They work great. I use 3 at a time, front, middle and back of the van and change them every 3 months.
Kevin Abbott
Just ordered 10 for my red car that's going to be under cover in a unit but everything helps
evo3000
Had to baton down the hatches with extra ties on thy loved one due to storm barney,or whatever its called. The breadknive thinks I take better care of the manta than her.
Rick-Manta
If you buy cat litter (silica based only) and fill up an old sock with it (preferably not w4nked in!) tie the end up and leave it under the car seat, it'll soak up all the moisture too. You can refill the cat litter of course, but the sock may get a bit soggy when the old stuff is 'full'.
