Mickfrad
Are the rear arch trim pieces just held on with the push fit clips (starlocks) or something else. thanks
Jessopia74
Is this the gte skirt that goes up the rear arch slightly? If so it’s a m6 stud and nut that you get to by removing the side panel in rear of car (next to seat)
ANDY ABBOTT
Think These are fitted with star locks from the factory iirc Edited July 23, 2020 by ANDY ABBOTT
Mickfrad
There is definitely no thread on them. Luckily all are still in place so star locks will work. They had already been taken off my car when i got it. So wasn’t sure. thx

Mickfrad
Cheers guys I'll have another look at them and see if there's any thread left.
mantasrme
It doesn't look like a metric bolt thread, it looks coarse almost like a screw thread. The original nuts almost looks to be pressed from a flat sheet of steel and don't have threads inside all the way down. From memory they are the same as the nuts holding the heat shield to the floor under a gte
IanMc
I guess you could always run a die down them to create a thread though. That might make for a slightly better fixing long term. Just a thought.
Mickfrad
I did think about that Ian but they are quite thin and didn’t want to make them thinner or risk breaking them. I’m thinking maybe some plastic wingnuts may grip enough to any thread they have.

The pressed nut orientates itself to the rear quarter. A proper threaded nut wouldn't.
Exclusive Opel
I have threaded mine. They're only M3 and use a small but and washer. I just don't overtighten them, just a socket on a short extension and tighten by hand.
