3.0 24V Manta Exclusive Coupe

Recommended Posts

Must admit, would prefer the standard wheels on this, but I always fancied an exclusive with the straight six 24V engine in.

Are they really heavy on the front end if this is done, or can it be done right and make them one hell of a machine?

Dave

Go on Dave you know you want one.

Personally think those wheels look out of place, but then i am used to the appearance of standard Manta's. but looks a good conversion in a tidy Manta

Myself i would experiment a different way, large alloy's with silver rim and body coloured centers in the manner of the original Exclusive,

These 'banded and stretched' wheels and tires i believe came from Europe where i think they are not allowed to change the wheel size so to be different they go wide.

A straight six Manta can handle done properly, i have posted below a Youtube link of two Manta's in Scandinavia belonging to brothers, they race and rally them, in the vid of a race for sports and saloon cars all the entrants are lined up on the grid except the yellow Six cylinder Manta, it is so fast that the race officials have handy-capped it half a lap yet by the end of the first lap it past half the field, so yes six cylinder Manta's can handle well done properly

I remember when this Exclusive first came up for sale and it was standard with no head lining in it. I have never been in a Manta with this engine in, cant say if I have ever seen one or not, cant remember ever seeing one, bet it goes well!

I like the look of this...even the wheels to an extent. Is it really worth the kind of money it's currently at? (£7200).

People often ask that question. There is no simple answer. It might not be worth it to you or I?

But anything is worth what ever someone is willing to pay. So assuming the bids are genuine, then to those bidding, yes it is worth it.

Who know's what their reasons are.

I think the engine conversion ,which looks like its been done well,is the main attraction with the bidders. B)

Not nuts ,not often a car like that comes up for sale ,plus the price of classic cars has gone up a large percentage in the last year and are expected to rise even more from this April

Aye, I'm well versed on the old adage of it's worth what somebody is willing to pay... :)

But there's still a mean average of the value of something. Personally I think £7500 is crazy to be frank. I think if somebody was to pay that they will be very disappointed when the rust starts coming through...Obviously the roof as mentioned but then who knows what's under the paint, especially as the roof is a pretty obvious clue that things perhaps weren't done very well? and the rear arch looks wobbly...

But then if somebody wants to pay that, it's their choice I suppose.
