Christina
Hiya, I'm Christina, 23, and I've just bought myself a Mk1 cavalier Right I know it's not a Manta, but I can't find a decent cavalier forum anywhere and they're pretty much the same anyways! I've spent the past year restoring my Mk3 Ford Cortina (yes I love both, don't understand those who can't) and I was getting tempted to start to rush it as I wanted a classic on the road again, so I was showed this and I fell in love. Always wanted one, my earliest memories are in my dads Ascona B, so one of those or a Mk1 cav have been on the list for ages. This one looks very rough but it's more of a reconditioning for now than a restoration. And when the cortina is done this will get the full treatment. I'll make a project thread to put all the pictures in

BigJohn
Hi Christina, I'm a relative newbie who also owns a Ford*, there is a wealth of knowledgeable of folk on here about Opel/Vauxhall RWD products, and they seem almost friendly to blue oval owners! . * we're the bridgehead, it'll soon be Escort this, Cortina that........... (BigJohn now runs and hides whilst MANTAMAN whittles a voodoo doll of him to stick pins in)
robah
Welcome to the ownership of Cavalier,Manta and Ascona. bodyshell. Plenty of members in the NW to assist, good luck with the project.
Rapierdave
Hi Christina Nice to see you on the OMOC forum as well as the facebook page. I joined this club when I had a Cav Sportshatch back in 2009 because the Chevette & Cavvy club is a closed forum. I can recommend that once you have got used to the forum you join the club for £25 as you then get access to other areas of the forum. Welcome to OMOC

( Sutty, you better park your Mundane'o outside and get someone else to tow your caravan onto puddleduck !)
1900SR
Welcome to the forum Christina. Mantaman, I assume I'll no longer be welcome if I get rid of the Manta A and replace it with this then? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-CAPRI-2-8-INJECTION-IN-BLACK-FULL-MOT-/231808422682?hash=item35f8dbd31a:g:LlgAAOSwYIhWkPVu Edited January 10, 2016 by 1900SR

Fine if you like that sort thing, but this is the OPEL MANTA Owners Club forum ( with the addition of closely related cars ), if you buy it join the appropriate forum, you can still stay on here and be a club member if you have an interest in Mantas, don't actually have to own one,

I am toying with the idea of moving WST on and trying something else, but it'd have to be special. It might have a blue oval, might have a propeller, maybe a Griffin, I really don't know yet. I know I can't talk, having just bought an MG, but I really must drop you off some of Greene King's finest beer as you are obviously in need of a substantial amount of refreshment old chap. Welcome Christina! You sound like a lady that likes a challenge. I have some spare moss killer in the garage if you need it!
spiney_norman
Welcome! I've just got back from a four hundred and something mile round trip to pick up another Cav saloon, the blue one you commented on over on the FB group earlier. It'll make a nice companion for my sapphire blue Cav coupe, you're not the only Vauxhall lover on this Opel forum

Panels for mk3 cortinas are a challenge.

You may just have to get yourself an ordinary Manta (or Cavalier) to enjoy until you find your 400R
