stumpy Posted November 20, 2020 Author Share Posted November 20, 2020 (edited) chassis rails...... have these left from a project many years ago. i didnt know if they would be any good now the car they were on the guy decided to go full cds tube to make it full space frame so i kept them i knew i had box section to make new rails so went to my unit wich is like a hoarders paradise. i dont know what the hell is in there all together between bikes and cars and parts i really need to go through and organise ..... anyway these are and have been under the bench and in surprisingly good condition so will be blasting them and rust proofing the outsides.... i only dusted them in standard primer on the outsides when i made them and now have surface rust these pics were back when i made them sittin outside my kitchen in the sun after spraying the inside with rust proofer zic rich weld through primer of some sort pics would help Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. stumpy Posted December 9, 2020 Author Share Posted December 9, 2020 (edited) folding these up tonight to make a channel two peices to be joined down the centre the 60x40 box will then sit inside it stich weld on the top radiused edges to the channel and on the underside down its length where they join ime intentionally leaving a 4 mm gap along the join so i can weld them down the centre to the box should be stiff as you like going to crack on hopefully get a few pics when done Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member.
