1200bandit
A plastic GTE bumper was removed only got rid because it had big holes in the bumper where it had very big lights on it This is what looked like then l got it( the early photos come out upside down) Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. 1200bandit
Had a go at the front bumper again. Bolt on the bumper brackets the to the chassis legs Put studs on the bumper.Got the bumper on sort off the gap is a bit to big between the the front panel and the bumper. The front bumper is jammed on the chassis legs and on the lower panel. If l cut a bit of the bumper where it jammed on the chassis legs, hopefully the bumper will come up a bit more and make the gap smaller. May have to fettle with the chassis brackets Will have to relocate the running lights Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. Jessopia74
Gap looks about right now without the trim piece. What angle/height do the sides of the front air dam sit? Take a pic of the wing as the angle might be telling. Added a pic of mine on the Berlinetta as I know in this pic it’s factory. Look at the gap, not super clear, but there is one even with trim in place below nose cone/air dam . Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. ®evo03
That trim, was it fitted to all? Some has it not fitted, or maybe it's another case of Opel, fitting it whilst it was available, maybe supply issues, or someone thought it didn't need it, not necessary, or technical issue, anything that is fixed and could cause injury removed. Who knows? Nice fix Bandit, looks grand, upsidedown🙃

1200bandit
Think it has been removed. This manta is quite solid, but it’s been messed about very badly. Its lots of small stuff, best way to describe it ( f##k it that will do)like when l found a lot of body filler around the battery tray, which l though was in good condition Some times is very annoying that someone just cocked it up Edited September 30, 2022 by 1200bandit

1200bandit
Back on the manta, lost interest in it for a bit ,was even thinking of selling it but the wife said not a chance,so done some cleaning and painting Its very clean underside of the rear ,lubricant the brake shoes ( brake shoes to back plate) adjusted the the shoes probably A few more goodies to get fitted over time ( if l don’t lose interest) The rear road springs are slightly bigger which may clearer the top of the driveway and not catch the exhaust. Not much room to work on the rear sides of it Photos of the N/S before, photos of the O/S clean and painted Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. Jessopia74
Those rear springs look wrong for GTE. Bet they jack the rear up past original height, rem GTE is lower than std from factory. Seen way too many cars had spring replaced lately looking like a highlux 😂 2
1200bandit
The springs that come of are progressive springs, and the manta is seating very low. Hopefully it will not be to high as l do need to de higher as the exhaust nearly gets ripped of when getting of the driveway (not that is got of the driveway as yet) Did not start it for 6/7 weeks, turned over slowly and started and run 100%
cam.in.head
rear springs do indeed look physically wrong.but may well be ok once fitted. (at least rear springs can be fitted in 5 mins !) comparing them to non gte stdsprings thou, they had the last coil as half thickness piece as std issue .were std gte springs the same ? ive never ever seen any aftermarket rear springs that are the same. BUT that was always an issue with the original springs even back in the day when they were nearly new.the car would sit level and drive nice with just a driver or 2 people but with 4 in and some luggage the back would become VERY low. thats why i always like the rear end of any car to sit higher at the back when empty.
1200bandit
Just need the exhaust not ripped off when going out of the driveway ( eventually, hopefully, maybe)
