What a lovely car, and what an absolute superb price, nice to see in these days of overinflated, overvalued, unfinished projects, that there are good people around selling good vehicles at good prices.

If space, cash and time permitted I'd love this as a resto project to restore to 100% original. (with just a few unseen performance tweeks of course)

Wish you very good luck with the sale Drew, you deserve a no nonsense sale on this :thumbup

Thanks Andrew for agreeing to sell the car to me.

It will hopefully be at Billing this year with the South Wales Manta guys.

I intend to keep it as original as possible.

The reason i really wanted this car is becauseof this picture taken in 1983 with my then pride & joy Manta with the girlfriend who is now my Wife and has to put up with my love of all classic cars especially 70's & 80's. :)

Loving this, Early B in Amber Gold, reminds me of my Childhood (VPY297S) :D

Shame.....with the strong Aussie $ atm, I would have loved to bring this to Australia.

Pity the Mrs doesnt share my enthusiasm :(

Anywho good to see it go to a great home ;)

  • 2 months later...

Well after a few delays the Manta i bought off Andy Turner (Drew) finally made it to Bristol.

Thanks Andrew for all the hard work on the chassis legs, oil seals etc etc.

Unfortunately rear nearside slave cylinder then master cylinder let go but heh thats the fun of classic car ownership.

Anyway after a couple of weekends of elbow grease, work on the engine bay etc, refurbed rostyles with new tyres here some pictures i took today.

As you can see i have to tidy up the door cards as the fake wood veneer was peeling off, thanks James (Stradacab) for the roll of Fablon

Got an SR wheel to fit soon.

Can't wait to start driving it around just waiting to tax it on April 1st.

Hopefully i'll drive it to the OMOC AGM in Bristol on May 8th.
