Good luck with sale! worth everypenny, nothing would put me off buying this car just dont need another manta, at the end of the day, the car will sell, and at a good price, regardless of personal opinions.

Thats all the owner wants! IS A SALE, not is my car worth X amount.

oh, and black car in pic is NOT FOR SALE or OFFERS:thumbup Id just have to buy this brooks replica instead!

well you haven't got the spare cash you cant really give a true opinion, sorry not beening rude, but trust me if you had the money in you pocket you wouldn't be parting with it for that,i love the new 458 and would love to buy one, but if i was ever lucky eough to have that sort of money i dont think i would part with

if i was to sell ma i200 for the kinda cash what they are worth over in the fatherland ie in the region of 12k i would then part with 6k for a 400r no probs but since owning it for 18 years it would be like selling a limb! as the last time i saw one for sale it was in the region of 10k so this is defo a bargain and as sumbody has already quoted the price of escortsin this thread your right good coupes are only going to escalate

umm never said the car isn't worth the money , what i get pissed about is when there over priced for what they are ie: you travel 100's of miles to see the car and its a bucket ,as i said earlier hi prices is ok, but like my mate who traveled 100's of miles

to see the black car and it needed tons of work ,i went scotland not long ago to see a car , chap wanted £10,000 he said it was a proper mexico {escort} turns out it been shelled & plated more times than dolly parton, and that was 800 mile round trip, another example , there was a alfa sprint for sale in wales, guy wanted £2100 for it, lucky for me i have a friend who lived local to the car ,he went to see the car for me, very average as you would expect from a 27 ish old alfa , fare amount of welding and rust covered up but price ok i guess, Well 4 months later back up for sale for £2795, i didn't recognise it was the same car , thought i try my luck, spoke to the chap {nice guy} he said ,great little car very original, dont think its had any welding, then i remembered the other car checked the pictures of it and hey presstow reg was the same, see where i am going with this

OH YES :thumbup

Thanks Brady, that really shows to me my difference between my personal taste between the 2 albeit a lovely Scone rather than a Manta, would think about selling a kidney for something like that.

And that I think would sum this lot up nicely, hopefully.

Good luck with the sale of the Andrews :thumbup

there was a manta with that paint job for sale in ireland! i was going to send you the link opel2000 buts gone now. it was pretty cheap to i think it was under 5000 with 16v.

dont get me started on shitroens lol! the old man has a 02 c5 they wanted to write it off as all the diles didnt work! and my sisters 03 c3's paint has started to come off!

Adz,

If I spent £6500 on something like a Citroen C1 then the only way it would make me smile in the morning, is if I set fire to it!

My mates new Mrs has just got one and when she came round the other day she said my old Ascona was a bit crappy! Gobby cow!

God that ascona looks the business - we are building another Ascona 400 later in the year, and a little bird tells me the owner may well go for the Rothmans graphics - I wasn't convinced...... til I saw this!!!

PS: whats all this fuss about! This is the Manta owners club, so logic dictates most of us have Mantas - so if the prices are rising sharply then thats surely a good thing!

Car now sold....Please delete.

Got very, very near the asking price, and I would just like to say that as in my opinion the Manta is better looking than the Escort Mk 2 then we as owners and enthusiasts of this great car should be pleased that the Manta is on the rise in terms of value.

Special thanks to all who helped with build, including Sam, Matt, and Paul.

Thanks also to Stuart here in the club.

As Jimmy McCrae once said..."best 2 wheel drive rally car...ever."

I hadn't commented, but liked it a lot. In fact jealous of the lucky owner now. Personally I would prefer one with a red top in it, but that could always be done. I thought, well worth the money, and in my humble opinion, the Andrews Heat for Hire 400 was the best looking Manta ever for me. It was the one that got me noticing Manta's originally, and still looks awesome today.

The cars have always been better than the Escorts and Capri's for me, so the Manta prices should be up there with them really, as long as I'm selling and not buying I guess!

PS: I like the black one and the Rothmans Ascona pics too, would be very happy with any of them if they were mine.

Yet ANOTHER car to show folk over value things !!!!

Get real about prices will you. This will still be for sale at that price on the day I die !!!!

Knock at least 5 grand off that and you might standv a chance of selling it.

Just cos folk put things up for sale at a certain price, doesn't mean they are worth that, or even that they will SELL for that.

Get real with prices folks, internet doesn't mean things are worth stupid money !!!!!!!!

whens the funeral

Didn't sell at that price did it !!!!!

Near is not exact,. So how much did an 1800 with body kit and (my opinion only ) a good paint job end up fetching ?????

I don't think he would have taken a £5 grand drop in price for it.

IMO a very nice car professionaly looking put together. The majority of the work already done for the new owner.

Gives hope to all sellers that the Manta's etc are now being respected by the classic car buyers
