mickappy
i can see the end of the painting:-)) all big panels back on car, not looking forward to fitting screens:-( Edited June 3, 2014 by mickappy
Retro Power
Looking Really really good Mick!! Screens are a doddle compared to what you've already done!! You need a helper, and the string or wire round the groove trick. Fit the seal to the glass first, then the whole lot to the car
opelmantagsi
its a two man job for sure. I have found getting the filler strip in the worse job without having the proper tool, last time I bent up a gas welding rod the shape of a diamond to get it in, will need to buy the proper lacing tool next time. spiney_norman
Might sound like a weird idea, but when I refitted the glass to my Viva I used some thin electric fence wire. It's nylon string with thin steel wires running through, so it's slippery enough to not catch on the rubber and strong enough not to break no matter how hard you pull it! Looking awesome Mick
mickappy
cheers, i will be buying the trim insert tool i think, i did use washing line when i fit the hatch window.. do i need to use any sealer??
Devil Fish
Personally, I would and did! Quite satisfying when you put the trim on and it squeezes the excess sealant out... maybe thats just me :/ at least then you know the rain ain't getting in!! Paul Barrett
i would put sealant in seeing how my coupe likes to cry down the dash at me when it rains, with it havinf some new paint
opelscott22
Definitely use sealant. Just make sure its proper non setting windscreen sealant not the PU type as youll never get it out again! (Ive never done that honest...)
