Manta hatch
They do fit it all depends which inlet you have some have lugs sticking The early Astra gte 16v 20xe engines has no lugs on back i have Jenveys in my cav C20xe and they just clear standard servo but no chance of fitting back plate for sausage type air filters I will be swaping mine then I find the brake and clutch pedal won’t go over the steering column have you had to adjust the column cage ? I am currently at the stage of fitting on my rally car build I literally cut the front of the servo mounting area on Wednesday night but I am at the stage we’re I mite take the whole box out and fab new box which model mk1 escort ?I will be of the rally and competion this week and see if they will do me a deal on my Mk2 1 for a mk1 set up as looks to fit a lot better

bris jas
Good points there, the main issue was the inlet hit the reservoir, where is yours in the pic? have you managed to remote fit? The pedal box i used https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mk1-Escort-Bias-Pedal-Box-Cable-Clutch-Rally-Race/254046133777?hash=item3b26545e11:g:Da0AAOSw-olaBXSZ. Just removed the accelerator pedal as for the steering coloum i did have to change the shape of the outer to a more oblong shape(just at the bottom), rather than a circle just where the clutch pedal fitted, no cuts were made so still as strong, just remember to put a clutch pedal stop in. 2 hours ago, robah said: Yes a standard XE manifold does fit Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. Jessopia74
Thanks for the pic Rob. Was thinking the high angled direct to head versions would clear over the top, worst case change to the Polo booster/master cylinder. Does vacuum pull from just one cylinder?
Manta hatch
Yes vacuum connect to end of inlet on no4 And I have manifold to put them on angle once I have done it will confirm if they contact servo our not

Yes the reservoir fitted fine, I think I was cleaning it up due to adding Automec DOT 5 fluid to a new brake system. I was so glad to get one of RetroPowers XE SS Exhausts as unlike some pre manufactured ones it fitted like a glove at 2.5" Dia. 😎 Pictures taken by Mantaray, while finishing the little job on my car before an MOT. bris jas
The build has been moving on pretty well, only real headache was the timing on the shut down. Lock down on the Monday night, that Thursday my auto sparky was coming over to wire up the engine and ECU etc. Glass was booked in with the tinters on the Friday so thats still here until they re-open and the interior is being trimmed in Blitz material and black leather thats on stop. Can't be helped so i've managed to wire up the engine and ME221 ECU from Motorsport Electronics, they were really helpfull getting a base map downloaded and yesterday for the first time we got the engine running, all seemed to work well but needs a proper rolling road session and custom map. At least it gives me a chance to test the gearbox, back axle etc as they haven't turned a wheel as yet! On the front end the gap between the headlamp and front panel are bigger than i liked, its a Martins kit so bit surprised, i did actually close them up a bit in prep so plan is to use the n/s one to push air upto the intake filter and o/s down to the oil cooler. Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. I built speakers into the lower kick panels that will be trimmed like the the door cards and also tweaters in the dash outer vents, the 2 centre vents i've installed the boost and oil pressure gauges Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. First time i've had to work out my own sizes offsets etc, fingers cross they fit, what a headache trying to decide on which wheels, to much choice anyway done now just need to confirm colour so hoping to get upto their showroom once lock down is over. Hope you guys and your families are all keep well. bris jas
Cast in the end, not a lot of difference in price but just found the wheel i liked in the cast, just had to get in the queue as they have shut the factory until next month so are way behind.

bris jas
Guys i've been crap at updated this thread, cars moved on loads and today passed its Mot 👍 The interior was reworked, blitz cloth and black leather. Rear shelf was carpeted to match the bottom of the door cards, heated front screen just in case as i had removed the heatbox. Wheels were bespoke ordered, took sometime because of lock down but all good in the end and fit spot on. Tyres how ever were a challenge as i went with 16" wheels especially for the rears but ended up with 245/45/16 which actually look right. Took it to its first mapping session couple of weeks ago, not sure what to expect as it hadn't turned a wheel until then, thankfully all went well. Its got a base map now so i can just gently run the engine in then back for a full on tune. Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. Jessopia74
Who did your seats, looks a very tidy job 👍 I like you have gone with the slightly larger rims, 15” just seem to small and the tyres definitely are getting rare too, but overall look is pretty menacing 😎😎 Edited August 18, 2020 by Jessopia74
