®evo03
What's the plan to remove broken studs? You can build supports with timber under the wheels for extra safety, Jenga but with nails. I always keep trolley jack and axle stands under.
1200bandit
What to repair the snapped bolt in the manifold not blowing but l know it’s snapped. Also clean and paint that side of the engine? When putting it back together will use copper slip. Will clean the sterling rack, front cross manner, paint where needed. Remove the front bumper and fit proper running lights possibly make an air pipe going straight to the air filter, will have to see if it can be done
®evo03
Last stud I used a piece on angle iron with a pre drilled hole, broken stud in hole, weld, leverage for removing stud. Previous to this I tried, stud removal tool, welded nut, list does on. But angle iron worked 🤔

Mike.
I’m sure that’s the same type of gasket I fitted and also had a leak with it, I replaced the gasket with a new Elring one which looks a better quality and design from the silver perforated ones. 1200bandit
I did fit a sliver gasket the first time round, did have a exhaust leak So looked for a gray on( the one that come off) could not find one Massage the sellers on eBay come back with is the correct one Fitted a new sliver gasket slightly leaking, thinking that the exhaust manifold was distorted, now have removed the manifold and found that the is some old exhaust gasket still on the manifold. Hopefully when cleaned no more leaks.
1200bandit
Today up early,Started work on the manta, refitted the exhaust manifold, inlet manifold, replaced the front pipe to manifold gasket ( had to rework the gasket) . The oil gauge was flickering all over place, no oil light wiring had come loose ? Started up after 10 seconds running very nice ( it seems to run better than before?) Run up to temperature oil light, gauge working perfectly A little bit of smoke ( from the paint) all clear when warm up Going to try to get the seats looking tighter so it doesn’t look baggy My back is now in pain fitting the front pipe was a pain Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. 1200bandit
Now onto the little bits Started the manta,When cold it will rev to 2,000 RPM for about 1 minute Then will drop to 1200 for 1 minute, then will drop to 800RPM Is the anything l should look at ,not really a fault but a bit annoying
®evo03
Airflow metre, if you can swap for a known good one or get one that you know is ok.
cam.in.head
also clean and check the aux airvalve. if you squeeze the pipe shut from cold and start the engine it should start but revs will be low at first. if they still shoot up then not a aux air valve issue . the valve should only hold revs up around 1000 to 1200 ish from cold but its adjustable and could br adjusted wrong ?
