Hi Nat

I will wait with interest in the work you are doing.

I haven't got much further with contacting the other company yet, as I haven't got a complete set of CIH and XE hoses available.

I will still approach that other company if you are looking at just manufacturing XE hoses, for those with CIH.

Cheers :thumbup

I'm interested in some GTE ones and also to add that I have a box of GTE and 1.8S original hoses if required by whoever

is involved in making the tooling. I looked into this twice now and just got fobbed off by the silicone hose companies,

who don't seem to be interested in old cars.

Rick I hope to find the CIH hoses I have over the next week, and I will let you know if I am deficient of any :thumbup

If I require any I will contact and arrange any postage at my cost to and from yourself.

I will then take the full set of CIH hoses to the company and find a price.

I went to pick the hoses up i left as samples on Friday, and had a chat with the hose manufacturers, they went on to tell me that high price was actually due to the long bottom hose which would prove to be very labour intensive for them, they went on to tell me how they had priced up a set of hoses for a Jag, and it was very borderline with the profit margin, then before they knew it they had a load of orders for them, which left them working for nothing almost....

So from a business perspective I quite appreciate what they are saying and why the price is so high, which incidentally they admitted as being a very high price.

Be interesting to see what Uncle Nat comes up with, scary thing is, I can see someone having the job of polishing up those stainless steel mandrels he's made :o

clive,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, count me in for the hoses,,,,like mentioned before its like jubilee city down there, and it all gets a bit tight for my liking,,a hose that was custom made to exit the rear of the xe/c20let water pump to bottom rad,,which included the manifold hose and pipe from the heater matrix would be so much more better,,,,less chance of leaks and shit aswell,,,,,,,, :thumbup

Hi All

Mark at Samco has a full set of hoses from my 1.9 (cam in head) as i was trying to get some hoses that would work on a Manta A for my project and he said that they dont have any that will fit due to the hose from the water pump to the rad being different sizes at each end. But that they could make some if there was enough interest.

I'm going to speak to him next week to see if they have anything close that i can modify to fit, so will find out what minimum qty's they would need to make a set if that helps?

Andy I will hold off going to the company I proposed until you have an answer from Samco.

Maybe I can use the price you get quoted against JSPerformance. ;)

I spoke with Roose Motorsport yesterday as I was in the area. They were quoting me £250 for complete CIH and £300 for XE, and then I can't be sure of that.

They would need at least 5 kits of each to bring the price down, very vauge on details (but at least they knew what an Opel Manta was/is :thumbup )

Heck!!!!!

Finally heard back from the hose Company yesterday.

Prices are beyond an absolute joke, we would be looking at £115.00 a set, and due to the scrappy un-interested email I received from them yesterday it "Seems" that price is with the bottom hose in 2 sections and the need for a metal connector piece with the other 2 hose connections on.

Mainly due to the fact that I'm not a bloody fool, but also having been looking at some of the more involved Turbo hoses for the Skyline, I know that this price is beyond a f**cking joke.

TBH I think they simply didn't want the job/work hence the high price.

To put the price in perspective, I could supply these pipes in stainless steel with 4 small silicon connector pieces for approx £120 price we were given really doesn't add up.

I know that Nat at Retropower has had a bit of a bee in his bonnet about these and has been looking into various ways these could be made, and TBH I've wasted so much time and effort on them when I should be doing what I really do, I simply do not think I have the time to go through this whole rigmarole again at the moment, especially as I would need to go further afield to possibly a more reputable Company, but could find the price being the same again at the end of the day.

Ever So Sorry Fella's........

But I really think this is the end of the thread.

Sorry people..

Clives look cheap now! :thumbup

I have dropped my coolant and oil pipes off at http://www.jsperformance.co.uk/ today for an XE conversion with standard inlet and heater setup.

They are going to back to me with the prices for individual items and kits. They maybe able to do the bottom hose (Rad to Pump) in one complete piece.

Inital Quoted prices did not seem to bad to me, but I will wait until I get a call back hopefully tonight or tomorrow.

I am even willing to take the extra cost of tool manufacture if required. As soon as I get any info I will let you all know if people are still interested in resurrecting this thread. (good possibilty of discount on bulk buys)

I will approach them with the CIH pipes if people are still requiring these kits.

Hi All

I dont know if this has been said on this topic{sorry to busy to read it all] but I use samco on my 16v's from a ford cossie 4x4 at a cost of £20ish each hose and best of all the bottom hose from said car can be made to fit both top and bottom for the 16v'ers

JS Performance got back to me yesterday with a price for XE on standard injection. £203 Inc VAT, with a stainless joiner on the bottom hose. This kit contains Oil and Water hoses (I think)

Separate parts they are looking at £75 Inc VAT for top and bottom hose kit, which may now be able to come in one piece, hose with the two smaller hoses coming off the pipe, one vertically up (inlet manifold), the other horizontally back (heater Matrix).

The breather hose kit is priced as their Corsa conversion c20XE. http://www.jsperformance.co.uk/

I can also ask them about the CIH hoses when I see them again (hopefully next weekend), if there is still interest. If so can someone post up pictures of the said hoses and some dimensions, I think I might have some hanging around to get a rough price on these.

They are a small up and coming company, with a very clean and well organised work area, with very good communication.
