CVI
This has been bubbling away for a few months now, however Paul and I have finally signed on the dotted line. Cherished Vehicle Insurance Services (CVI) are pleased to announce our new partnership with the Opel Manta Owners Club. This post is purely an introduction to me and CVI, rather than a long-winded sales pitch! A bit about me. I am an ex-member but lifelong Opel/Vauxhall man. Selling my GTE coupe ( E801 VJO) back in 2003 due to the rusty bits and not having space/time . However during this time, became good friends with the late Ian Virco…………so I had plenty of Manta’s to play with! As many of you know, I took the end of life call for Ian and proceeded to handle the sale/rehoming of the cars and parts – making sure as much as possible would be preserved……..certainly wasn’t an easy task! My hobbies are very classic car focused. Along with maintaining and restoring my own cars, I also attend events and navigation rallies in my spare time. Quite fond of my old Monza, which is filler recreating a Monza at present, but it’s used and enjoyed and making memories. Professionally, I have working within the classic car Insurance industry for nearly 15 years. Cherished Vehicle Insurance Services is the classic car department of A Plan. Whilst we specialise in club agreements and classic car policies, we do also offer home Insurance in the office. However, broadly speaking, we have access to hundreds of markets which allow us to offer insurance to cover pretty much every scenario. The people in the office are either car people or at the very least, have a good understanding of what’s what. Our company car is a Triumph 2.5 PI estate, which is the teams rebuild project. It will be our practical load lugger, but it also offers the team a hands on opportunity to play with spanners and enjoy the workshop banter. The office has 12 classic cars between us, the majority of them being daily runners in the summer. We host our own local evening meets in the summer for local charities and our own Drive It Day. The Club Policy I have briefly outlined the below, it is only available to OMOC members . I will just highlight a couple of key points from the list below. Agreed value is done in house – I know the days of a £1,500 MOT Manta are long gone! Member to Member cover – If you are both insured under the club scheme, you can drive each other’s cars comprehensively. Reinstatement cover - offers a financial safety net to repair the vehicle in the event of a claim. Modifications – You are talking to people who understand. A XE bolts in, a 2.2 Carlton engine is nuts and bolts. The above is a brief introduction into the new club policy, a relationship which I hope will go from strength to strength. After being in these circles for all these years, I make no attempt to hide behind a generic name. You can contact me on here, via the phone or via social media. If we are not meeting your expectations for any reason, please talk to me. In January, Paul Brennecke and I will be meeting at Turweston for coffee and cake. Once we have a date firmed up, I will do an open invite to all. It will provide an opportunity to meet in person, answer any questions you may have and talk cars. Any questions? I am of course happy to answer them! Jessopia74
That’s great! A personal service is very much welcomed and hopefully we can do business in the future
CVI
Definitely, personal service but also an understanding of the hobby, so you can talk freely rather than having to explain what everything is

chrisb
Great to see this posted up. Myself and Mick Maher are both insured through CVI and can confirm an excellent service with genuinely enthusiastic people, the quote process was very easy and was a refreshing change to be able to talk and laugh with an enthusiast rather than some bod reading from a script. Long may this relationship continue.

CVI
Apologies Sutty, I've been suffering from manflu so just seen these! A Plan have numerous offices around the UK, we just focus on Classic/Club policies. In house agreed value means, we handle it all ourselves without having to await the response from the underwriter. At present, myself and Simon do agreed values, Simon used to have a Manta and is in touch with that the market is doing. It also means we can agree the value prior to going on cover if you wish. Monza Seats, white/silver or red piping? 1

Monza Seats, white/silver or red piping? Sorry for late reply Ian. I see you’re on Autoshite too!! i picked up some seats between Xmas and new year. I think they’re black, with white piping? They are going to be professionally cleaned first. I should have asked for rears too, for the material, but that’s just my lack of planning right now! Kal001
Just renewed with the guys at Cherished. Fairly painless. Slightly more than my previous insurers quote BUT added a no fault claim and included agreed valuation in the price so happy all round. Hopefully they can quote me happy on our daily drivers and home.
Jessopia74
To me, they need an online easy to complete portal.

There are advantages to talking to a human, looking to insure my 335xd on modifications it mentions stuff like flared arches, fibreglass wings etc and then other which then catches basic stuff like a rear spoiler, dash cam with a massive weighting. I’m getting bent over properly by insurance renewal has come in at £2.7k , 1.8k last year and £700 the year before. FFS 🤦♂️
gtwist
I have changed my classic Insurance to CVI ... can I first thank Ian Arthur for introducing OMOC to CVI, Tom Larkins & Aidan Hughes for dealing with me going through the paperwork (very helpful) ... I had been with another well known Insurance company for over 7 years of which they've been very good price wise but CVI came up with my best offer & upping the Agreed Valuation up to £30,000 ... I very much recommend CVI so ask for a quote off them ... of course you don't know how good a company are until you have to make that "dreaded" claim of which I've never had to

Irmscher Man
We have a few long terms members that come up to the surface every now and then and its nice when they do! Fortunately, John and I speak regularly (we had a pub lunch on Saturday in fact). It's worth remembering that some folks would rather talk on the phone or face to face!
