Alexb
Finally decided to see the Exclusive in favour of the A Series I recently imported from SA. (and the potential loss of my use of a 2nd garage.) Its a well known car and in lovely condition having been restored back in 2013/14 with all bills to prove. It's on 63k with all old MOT's going back to the 1st one to prove. (a few missing from the 90's so I assume she was in storage for a while.) Clean advisory free MOT. Only non standard thing is the glass sunroof. Not everyones cup-a-tea but I prefer it. No rust. Perfect interior. Runs and drive lovely. Price: £18,500 which is a firm asking price (including the GTE number plate.) Loads of history too. Located in Surrey. Only dropped so I can carry out the work I need to do on my A Series.. New price is a real bargain compared to the latest auction prices. Edited November 9 by Alexb

Can yoo say what exactly was done back in 2013/14? New swan necks etc? Full respray?
Alexb
Ide have to wade through all the bills to see what was done. def a back to metal full repaint and new interior. Recoated wheels with new centres.
IanG
Different door mirrors?
Alexb
Original mirrors are on it. Pair of Engleman door mirrors come with the car. When I got it there were 400 'style' mirrors fitted that I removed on day 1 hence the little white blanking caps. The other mirrors are included so can be fitted to remove the white caps.!
Sutty2006
That is one stunning car. And as much as I like original stuff, the Engelman mirrors suit the car better, and I think over the pond they came standard on the GSI
Alexb
the mirrors that come with the car are in really nice condition complete with new rubbers. Quite hard to find now too.

I think I'd say the same thing assuming you've still got the blanks for the factory mirrors. They look better (even if they aren't as much use as mirrors), and the door holes with the caps in don't look great. Take new photos to replace any that show the old mirrors or blanked holes. H-400
Great looking car, and yes on our side the GT/E came standard with those Englemanns. Remember I fitted them on my first Manta and blanked of those triangles with black quality vynil.
Alexb
Down to 20k. Dont think I’ll go any lower. I’ll tuck it away with the A Series until the Spring and try advertising it again if it has no interest ( from serious people that is.) at 20k. im quite surprised to be honest. I thought it was decently priced. 🤷♂️
®evo03
It is decent priced, and a great car, always a hard time to sell this time of year, but would make sense to buy now, and have it ready to rock come spring, summer. Again, great car looks very nice. 3 years time it's free, MOT, tax, etc 😎
TheRealExile
Yeah, time of year, budget coming, high Interest rates, and I'm not buying for a while at least as the Mrs has been put at risk of redundancy ☹️ luckily there is 45 days consultancy as it is over 100 people, should take her to December plus 3 months notice and no doubt statutory on top, they made a huge cock up by having all the names visible on the email, not sure if that would breach some rights or other 🤔 hopefully people start hiring again in the New Year. 1900SR
Where have you advertised the car? If it's just on Manta sites consider putting it on some general classic car places as that will broaden the reach. If you aren't that desperate to sell I wouldn't drop the price, bide your time and the right offer will come along.
Alexb
Ive tried every where mate. All over FB on different pages, C&C, Gumtree....etc... Its just seems to attract people seemingly intent on wasting time. Ask lots of questions then vanish.!. Such a shame as I really want the car to go to a good home. Ide still even consider a PX although ide prefer a sale.
Alexb
Down to £19,250 in a last attempt before I put it away for the winter.
Alexb
So £18,500 is as low as we can go.

If you can wait until spring and push it into a good auction house you are likely to sell

I am selling my manta (£17,500) which is in very good condition ( not as shiny as yours) Had someone from Wakefield come and look spent one and half hours looking talking then nothing I am ok with keeping the manta is only covered 229 miles in 4 years. Not despite for the money so will stay in the garage until next year Edited November 10 by 1200bandit
Sutty2006
Definitely the worst time to sell. cover it up for winter, take all the ads down and start again in April. Get some great countryside shots of it and list it for 20k again.

It's a bargain at £18500, yet still nobody is biting.
starmist
Definitely worth £20k in spring. Agree with putting some good photos up.
Alexb
Problem is, putting it away for the winter doesn't get the A done. 😞
1900SR
It might be worth a chat to ACA to see what they think it might fetch in their next classic auction at the end of January, and what the entry and commission costs would be. https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/auctions/calendar-of-classic-auctions/ You could either deliver it to them, or they'd collect and it's out of your way until the sale. Monaco Blue
You could try KGF. They have sold a few Manta's over the years: https://www.kgfclassiccars.co.uk/selling/
