We new you'd be back mate,

Have you got your eye on something?

Hi Jason. I've bought my old B series hatch back from Mick Maher. Always loved this old car. Glad to own it again.

I don’t think I know you Chris but welcome back all the same. I was a member back in the dark ages too, but don’t recall my number. Does anyone in the club have access to old membership information?

Wrong probably remember the car, if you had one back in the day.

Welcome and best of luck with new B. 👍

I have owned 38 Mantas so you will probably remember a couple of them from over the last 3 decades since i first joined the club,

Blue Exclusive coupe heavily magazine featured E100 OMM.

Ben Williamsons bronze B series coupe JRD 243W.

Starmist black 2.4 Exclusive coupe E852 EJB/A200 EX.

And sold my white GTE Coupe last year to Absolute classic cars  B848 SNX I think the video is still on youtube.

The silver 2 coupe that has just sold on Ebay 2 days ago was also mine in the past.

Just to name a few.

Cheers Chris.

Whats is the best manta you have owned and why?

The worst?

And the ultimate, if you could find it?

Toss up between Ben's B and my old starmist 2.4 Exclusive.

Ben's B I just have a massive soft spot for and would have back in a heartbeat if it ever come up for sale.

My black 2.4 as the car was just lovely with that engine. The split rim wheels. And brake conversion. It just looked and sounded awesome. And it was mint inside and out. It was written off on a photo shoot for a magazine in 2001.

The worst. Mmmm probably the first 1.8 Berlinetta hatch I owned in the 90's. Wasn't a great car. Looked OK but was rough when you got up close.

Ultimate for me is Andrew Abbots i240 probably one of my favourite Mantas.

Alongside my old Starmist black F reg Courtney Turbo that Ian Martin sold last year.

I also owned Geoff Twists i200 back in the 90's

That's a list of some fine cars.

Is Ben's B, a manta B 1.6 in blue, was it auto?

Was the 2.4 a 16v  6 cylinder, cut down head?

Think the i240 is for sale.

Ben's B is a 2.0 SR auto coupe in bronze. its an 81 model so has the black plastic bumpers as opposed to the chrome of the earlier B's.

The 2.4 was a 4 cylinder built by Gerry Johnstone and Bill Blydenstein of DTV fame. Comprising 2.4 thick walled competition block and big valve head. Was approx 170 bhp on the injection but had huge midrange torque.

The i240 is out of my league currently as I've just taken early retirement.

I'm also into Golf GTi's having owned a fair few over the years too.

Currently own 2 examples of a rare edition Golf GTi Clubsport. They were made in limited number of 1000 cars with approx 550 coming to the UK. They are all 2016/7 model year. My white one only has 4k on it from new.

Hey sooty. How's you mate?

I heard it wasn't as well attended as previous years mate. Shame really as its a good event. Look forward to catching up with folk.

I’m ok mate. Super busy with family life and everything else around it. Trying to get my B series on the road for next year but have little time and not much ££ to spend on it.
